A Mexican scientist has developed an innovative process to create biodegradable, non-toxic, and edible plastic from prickly pear cactus juice. Using the plant's natural sugars and gums, this sustainable bioplastic decomposes quickly, offering an eco-friendly alternative to conventional plastics. Currently under testing for durability and scalability, it could replace single-use items like bags and cutlery, leveraging a common local resource to address global plastic pollution.
