To our Pasta Pappone friends, family, and community:

After many wonderful years of sharing flavored pasta, we (Jon and Mary Beth) have made the decision to step away from Pasta Pappone.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible journey we've shared with all of you. From our humble beginnings at local farmers markets, to our exciting retail launches at major chains like Whole Foods Market, Mariano's and Jewel, you all have been with us at every pivotal moment.

And good news - you can still get your flavored pasta fix! Pasta Pappone's production will be taken over by longtime pasta company friends Pastamore out of Denver, CO. All the classic flavors will be available, along with gluten free options and more! And of course, you can still purchase it from your favorite retailer.

Thank you again for the years of love and support. We are excited for what the future holds for us, and hope to meet you all again on the next adventure!

🌻This is our first foray into the state of Pennsylvania and may we say, they are LOVing our flavored pasta!
🌻Kimbertons is independently and family owned with seven locations; we are in four of them and working with them to add more!

to three years ago, launching in our very first chain grocery store, as part of their freshly launched Local program! ❤️🙌🏼

Some memories: We pitched Amanda and team on our products in November, got a yes for ALL six flavors we pitched - which doesn’t happen often — and launched with a distributor and got *on shelf* at FORTY FOUR locations within two months of that YES. This is also very unusual in grocery as typically it can take up to a year or more to actually get the product in the store.

Because it was locally focused and a stand alone end cap in the stores, the Mariano’s team was able to be nimble and move quickly, which when you’re a small brand like Pasta Pappone, means everything in a retail launch. We could start seeing a return more quickly.

In addition to that, the Mariano’s team put ad dollars and promotional dollars behind the Local program to get new products in front of consumers — ALSO a huge thing for us as a small, scrappy brand.

We will never, ever get over this thrill of seeing our flavored pasta move from a farmers market stand to a grocery store. Checking out and seeing our brand name scan was so, so exciting.

For the first few months after launch, we (Jon and MB) drove all over Chicagoland to the 44 stores to personally merchandise our product, meet store managers, and report back on inventory to our distributor. We noticed that on the Local rack, the pasta wasn’t sitting well and might affect sales if people couldn’t see the label. So for weeks we glued together bookends in our garage to create a vertical merchandising system and deliver it to each one of the 44 stores. It transformed the look of our product and aided in sales.

The team at Mariano’s later told us this was one of the smartest things we could have done. And it eventually landed us in the actual pasta aisle. Looking back, it reminds us that the stress and effort is worth it, and *no one* will ever care as much as we do about our product at the end of the day. We had to DIY and work hard without a ton of $$ to make it a successful launch.

We are so proud of and grateful for our Mariano’s partnership! 🙏🏼🤍

How to make everyone at the table happy? Lemon Pepper Fettuccini - two ways!

Simple: our pasta is already packed with herbs, spices and delicious flavor so just boil in salted water, 5-7 mins, drain and save some pasta water, top with butter et voila! Buttered Lemon Pepper noodles for your easy meal
Extra: Use some of that pasta water and make a silky egg yolk & parm sauce. Just melt some butter over low heat, mix 1/4 c pasta water with egg yolk, pour in with butter, whisk and whisk in a few table spoons of parmesan. Mix with hot Lemon Pepper pasta and top with toasted breadcrumb and sesame seed for the perfect bite!

In this house, we believe in science 💛☺️

According to a study conducted by the Behavioral and Brain Lab at the Free University of Languages and Communication IULM in Milan, Italy - like super legit! - eating pasta was more effective than sports or music when it comes to generating positive emotions. AND! Eating pasta was better at helping study participants remember or recall specific things.

So eat pasta, be happy, remember things, live well. A life approach we can get behind ✌🏼
