Hi all, sorry about some of the inconsistent hours here with all the things going on in and around us. Today's our annual brew day with our friends at Pollyanna, so we'll be opening at 2 p.m. and ready for you to hit happy hour (or pick up some b**r for the weekend!). It’s that time of year to grab your spooky Halloween b**rs! And don’t wait too long to stock up before those parties…these are all one-time brews. Reginald B**rington, III (do NOT call him Reggie…he HATES that) recommends these IPAs from Phase Three, Penrose, Jester King, and Pipeworks…dark la**rs from Hailstorm and Old Irving, fruited b**rs from Riverlands and Phase Three, a nitro pumpkin stout and a c***r from Southern Tier, and hoppy dark l***r from Allagash. They’re all grouped together on the shelves with other fall b**rs!

We have a winner! In what turned into a pretty close vote, Chris Godek's "Bottle Shop of Pourers" is our winner of this year's Pollyanna collaboration brew. This is going to be a dank IPA with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Columbus hops. Will be reaching out to all finalists to get their info for prizes. Congrats to all of them, and thanks to everyone who submitted names and/or voted. This is always one of the fun contests we do, and love that it's with our friends at Pollyanna!

Sorry for any inconvenience, but shop is closed today for “continuing education”. Huge thanks to Marty, Collin, and the Revolution Brewing team for having our staff at the Kedzie brewery to learn a ton about the barrel-aging process and the Deep Woods program. Oh yeah, we’re also working on a barrel pick exclusive to our shop and guests. See you back here for normal hours on Tuesday!

Ok, so we assure you, we ARE open. And this is a Downers Grove Public Works appreciation post. There was a water issue after concrete was pulled this week and they’ve been all over this, finding solutions at all hours and keeping us informed every step of the way. They’ll be done here within the hour, but wanted to give this group a shout-out. Not just for today, but for all the great work they do every day down here.

OK friends, in the never-ending saga of construction downtown, the village decided today was the day to pour concrete in front of our shop and entirely restrict access through those doors. Sooooo...if you ever wanted to see how the sausage is made at a bar, our back door is unlocked and you're able to come in that way to enjoy a cold b**r or grab things to go. Parking in the library lot is free, as well. Please don't take a full keg on your way out, though. Back to having front doors on Thursday!
