We would love to share the benefits of raising alpacas with you, your family and friends. There are tremendous benefits to raising these beautiful creatures... from emotional to financial...so whatever your dreams might be...owning and raising alpacas is surely an avenue to be explored! Please give us a call...we look forward to hearing from you!
Breeding and raising alpacas today is about building and branding the alpaca fiber market in North America. Alpacas can be looked at as if they were an acre of land. Just as good farmers work to increase their yield of produce per acre, alpaca breeders look to increase the quality and yield of fiber per animal. Genetics and sound animal husbandry pave the way to better animals one generation to the next.

about us
Leslie Peterson
Leslie was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan. After high school, she studied nursing at Henry Ford Community College. Though she excelled at her nursing studies, it was during this time that Leslie's thoughts turned toward teaching. As a result, Leslie transferred to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan where she undertook studies in K-8 education and early childhood development.
Leslie has home schooled all five of the Peterson children...and is a passionate and driven educator. Leslie is an avid reader and enjoys all things related to alpacas and fiber, spinning, weaving, gardening and, fortunately for all of us, cooking!
Aside from her work at home and at Drummond Farms, Leslie has served for five years as the Education Chair for the Upper Midwest Alpacas association and served many years as the Volunteer Coordinator of the Minnesota Alpaca Expo. Leslie is a great source of information and inspiration for our clients getting started with alpacas as well as those well versed in animal husbandry looking for new thoughts, ideas and methods being discussed and practiced in the Alpaca community.
