I’ve enjoyed scones for many years. I used to treat myself about once a week at Firehook bakery in Washington, DC with a big delicious flaky cinnamon scone. I’ve never found other ones as good as those. It wasn’t until recently that I realized how EASY it is to make scones. I made savory ones a few weeks back with cheddar, apple and bacon and they were delish. This morning I made blueberry cornmeal scones with a lemon glaze drizzle. Warm from the oven — with plump juicy blueberries—accompanied by a cup of coffee and my day was off to a great start!
