Good day friends,

As you may have heard on the news or from other farms in the area in late April a series of severe freezes seriously impacted fruit production in the eastern US. Freezes are an inherent risk in fruit production that a grower accepts as part of their business, but this time the degree of loss and geographical extent is unprecedented in my career.

Mariner Farms was unfortunately not spared, we have experienced a complete loss of our peach and nectarine crop. Apples faired a bit better; we may have 10 percent of a crop, depending on variety.

For the 2026 season, we will not be opening for peach or apple season. We will open for pumpkins starting September 19th and go until Halloween - weekends only. We will open for Christmas trees on Black Friday and be open during our normal Christmas tree season times. For the limited apple crop that we have, we will sell them at the stand during the pumpkin season. We will not be doing pick your own apples during the 2026 season.

We here at the farm are sad about the circumstances this year has presented to us as many of you are too. We enjoy seeing all our customers and providing a place to make memories with your family. Our family farm will survive the setbacks of this year and we expect to be back to full and normal operations for 2027. We hope you all have a great summer and we hope you stop out to pick pumpkins this fall.

We have elected not to open today for Christmas tree sales due to current conditions on the farm. Today would have been our last day for sales for the year, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, if you were waiting to get your tree until today, or haven’t purchased one yet, please call our farms phone number to set up an appointment to cut a tree on our Broad Run Rd farm during the week.

We again wanted to thank everyone that stopped out this weekend, we hope you enjoyed your purchases. If you haven’t stopped out to see us, you will still be able to cut your own Christmas trees next weekend, December 13th-14th from 9am to 4 pm. We will only be selling Christmas trees at our Marshallton Thorndale rd farm:

We will also have wreaths available for purchase. Trees five foot and below will be priced at $15 a foot, trees above five foot will be priced at a flat rate of $95. Drilling and bailing of trees is included, and we will assist securing your tree to your car. The varieties of trees available for purchase are Douglas fir, Fraser fir, and blue spruce.

We will be officially kicking off our cut your own Christmas tree season this Black Friday. You will be able to cut your own Christmas trees on November 28th-30th, December 6th-7th and December 13th-14th from 9am to 4 pm. Good day friends,
We will be open this weekend from 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. This will be our final weekend at the stand for the year, there also won’t be any pick your own. At the stand you will be able to purchase pre picked apples, cheese and assorted jams, jellies and sauces. Stop on out and stock up for the winter. Though this is our last weekend on our Broad Run Rd farm, we will open up for Christmas Trees at our Marshallton Thorndale Rd farm on Black Friday.
