October 4th

This popular low country shrimp boil event is back by popular demand and will take place at DREAMS' Garage, 901 Fanning St., Wilmington, NC on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Join us for an evening of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and live music performed by Quentin Talley & The Soul Providers and DJ BIGG B., all while supporting a vital cause. This fundraiser aims to support DREAMS' mission to foster confidence among youth and teens through equitable access to arts education, guided by our core values of respect, family, and community.

October 13th

The Northside Food Co-op is hosting Wilmington’s first Chopped competition! Inspired by the Food Network phenomenon, four North Carolina chefs will prepare a two-course meal featuring a basket of mystery ingredients during a live cooking competion at The Annex at The Harrelson Center. All proceeds will benefit the Northside Food Co-op, a community-owned cooperative grocery store planned for the Northside of downtown Wilmington, in partnership with New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington.

Join Quentin Talley and the Soul Providers on Friday, January 26 for a live musical rendition of the Intergalactic Soul exhibit on view at 210 Princess Street in downtown Wilmington. The music is inspired by soul, funk, and Spoken Word. This 70-minute performance is a theatrical cosmic narration of the artworks included in the gallery.

The Intergalactic Soul art show is a multimedia exhibition that tells the story of two young Black space travelers who journey across the cosmos in search of their history and heritage to ensure a better future for themselves. The exhibition, which presents contemporary conversations about Black American experiences, features the work of Jason Woodberry, Quentin Talley, and Marcus Kiser.

Stop by the art gallery to see the works between 4 and 9 p.m., then walk across the street to Bourgie Nights (127 Princess Street) for the 9 p.m. concert.

Tickets will benefit DREAMS Center for Arts Education. The art exhibition is free and 40% of artwork sales will also benefit DREAMS. Link in bio!
