It all started 12 yrs ago with 7 baby chicks and a dream

June 2014, after months of learning as much as I could about how pasture raised chickens worked and the model’s ability to create the most delicious and nutritious eggs possible, I went out to my local feed store and got 7 baby chicks and brooding supplies. I built their coop out of recycled pallets, which turned out to be extremely heavy, 😅 but the learning continued!

Designing the coop and getting those first eggs was immensely rewarding. It was my goal to make it my full time job someday but getting there seemed like a crazy challenge! Through word of mouth, I started selling eggs to friends and supporters and it was clear I needed to go bigger. 12 years later the flock is now at 600 hens!
