Hello friends—just a little update. Some of you know this is a transition year for us. Jeff planted “a little garden!” (Apparently 4 acres is a little garden!). This transition year has seen our friends, the Schmidt’s, operating the canopy spot in the parking lot behind McDonald’s at 300 E 12300 S in Draper. The Schmidt’s home base is Wedt Jordan, but they are also farming a few of the remaining acres in Draper available for agricultural use. It is our understanding they have lots of yummy corn. Tomatoes are another story this year. The extreme temperatures we have had and continue to have are not kind to local tomatoes which are slow to ripen and in very short supply. We may be able to supply some tomatoes to the Draper location, but once they arrive there the price and availability will not be determined by us. And some people have asked me if I couldn’t get Rasmussen Farms produce, where would I go? I would check out Schmidt’s produce, and if I lived on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley, I would check out Rushton Farms. Or check out the local farmers markets! Best wishes!
