Things I didn't know I'd need for this business: a butterfly quality-control team. 🦋 This one climbed all over my basket of finds — vintage egg plate, hen & chick salt and pepper, red glass pitcher — before I could even get my photos done. 5-star inspection, I guess. 🧺✨

Our son has a herd of Texas Longhorns. Most of these photos were taken after spending the day fencing the woods. The light was hitting just right and the patterns reflected from their colors to the clouds and the leaves. The stately tan cow laying in the grass looked so peaceful on that summer day. She was a show stopper with horns spread as wide as the sky. And that bull? He loves apple treats and head scratches and is so gentle with his horns. Hay making is hard work and long hours. I often don’t see my husband but for a couple of hours a day for week or more at a time. He and our son do things the right way. L and I help wherever we can. I used to run the disc mower and hay rake too. I miss it. Hay making gives us access to beautiful scenery and wildlife interactions and the connection to ancestors and the cycle of harvest. A part of the turning wheel and it is soul food.

Goat shenanigans! It’s always something! L left the Folgers can a few minutes before by mistake and Tilly literally dove in face first! She was fine but she gave me a scare before I could make it through the gate and the sea of mini knee bulldozers begging for hugs and treats. Congratulations! And we are thrilled to have two daughters and a son of his from this year! Can’t wait to see how they mature and what they do for our program!

Happy to announce that Sulaymaan has officially earned his second ++*B! This means he has at least three daughters and two sons that have earned their AR milk stars from different dams. Although I believe more of his kids than that have earned it. I will have to look through his kids.

This is just another accomplishment to add to his long list. Thank you to all the breeders and owners that have worked hard to prove his kids out. We love this boy!

I still have a few bucklings sired by him available from this year! All of his daughters are sold out for the year.
