A couple weeks ago we added this girl and 2 of her siblings to the farm.
I drove an hr and a half for them.
They looked decent in pictures.
Was told they were healthy.
F***l looked normal.
Got to the location and notice they have glue on their backs… can you guess what from??
Yeah. Auction.
Come to find out the guy purchased them at auction on Monday and I drove an hr and a half to get them on Friday…
I was beyond upset. There’s a reason I don’t buy goats from certain auction places, and these 3 just so happened to be from one of those places.
They looked relatively healthy. On the skinny side, you could tell they definitely needed dewormed.
Called the vet in and turns out they have
Sucking lice, coccidia, and worms (even after worming)!
This is why you don’t buy from auction unless you know what you’re looking for, have room to quarantine and the money to pay for a vet!
I couldn’t leave these babies in the conditions they were in when I got them, I didn’t know where they were going to end up if I didn’t take them.
They will be okay. They will be loved. They will be cherished. They will be well fed. They will be cared for. They will receive the proper vet care.
