Good morning all! We have a few pigs that ready to harvest. Let us know if you are interested. Our fall garden is progressing! Our first planting of cabbage, choi, brussel sprouts and broccoli is in the ground! Cauliflower will be planted tomorrow and leafy greens will be over the weekend!

Oakley Family Farm WILL be at the Cash and Carry farmers market (lake charles) today, 4:00-6:00. We'll have bacon to sell and some jalapeño and cheese summer sausage to sample. We'll also be taking orders for broilers (chickens) to be ready towards the end of July. We look forward to seeing you there.

Oakley Family Farm WILL be at the Cash and carry farmers market (Lake charles, la) today from 4-6. We will have our regular cuts of pork, sausage and bacon. Also, Sam (our soon to be 8 year old) will have his dried apples for sale. Come out, grab a cup of coffee, and visit. We look forward to visiting with you!

This past weekend, Oakley Family Farm was blessed to have Toby Rodriguez and Rennie Elliott with Lache Pas Boucherie (lachepasboucherie.com) come out to our farm and harvest one of our hogs in an old fashioned boucherie style. Jacob Manceaux and Taylor Gremillon with Lake Charles Cash and Carry Farmer's Market also came out. Jacob handcrafted some excellent cabbage rolls using most of the ingredients from the hog harvested. I will be posting more pictures in the near future. Thank you all for coming out!

We will soon be downsizing our herd of pigs. We are currently at 50 pigs and need to get down to about 25. We would like these pigs to go to families and restaurants that enjoy our pastured pork (not to the sale barn). We will be selling them as halves, wholes or sausage (smoked, summer, italian, and breakfast). The halves and wholes will sale for $3/lb and the sausage will be $6/lb.
