Seeing our little farm included in a guide celebrating outdoor experiences, adventure, and the places that make Southern Virginia special is such an honor. Weβre still busy building, growing, learning, and dreaming and moments like this remind us that people are beginning to see what we see in this land.
And the title of our feature feels especially fitting: βComing Home.β π₯Ήπ«π½π cause thatβs really what this journey has been for us. Coming home to the land. Coming home to farming. Coming home to family, community, food, culture, and the knowledge and traditions that have always connected our people to this place.
A heartfelt thank you to Beth Bell, Account Manager of Eddy Alexander, Jennifer Eddy, and the VisitSoSi team for highlighting Native Roots Farm amongst so many other great agribusinesses and helping tell the story of whatβs happening here. Visitor Spending in Pittsylvania County and Danville hit 415.2 Million in 2025 making us Virginia's fastest growing area! π€―π The work that the Eddy Alexander team is doing in their involvement and strategic planning is absolutely incredible. We are beyond excited to be a tourism partner here.
Big thank you to Lisa Meriwether, CVTP, Tourism Manager, whose ongoing encouragement, support, and leadership through the Office of Economic Development in Danville has meant so much to me personally. Lisa has been one of those people who understands that tourism isn't just about destinationsβitβs about people, community, culture, stories, land, progress, growth, and creating meaningful experiences that invite folks to connect with a place.
For us, Native Roots Farm is all of that. π₯°
This land is our home, classroom, gathering place, our mother and our teacher. Weβre working to create a farm destination where food, culture, conservation, education, camping, and outdoor adventure can come together so our visitors can experience a little piece of the living story we're continuing to grow here.
Weβre incredibly grateful to everyone who has encouraged us, opened new doors, made introductions, sent me event invites, shared our story, mentioned us in rooms we weren't even standing in and believed in what weβre building.
