Our girls are doing eggscellent in the laying department but unfortunately, we lost a hand raised olive egger named Gracie recently. Orders will have fewer blue/green eggs with 1/2 blue layers gone. Next Spring, we plan to add 10 more layers in different breeds to diversify our colors strictly for aesthetics- same great farm fresh taste no matter the shade!

I was honored to participate in a vital listening session on Native Community Health in my hometown where our daughter attends a phenomenal Indian Education Program.

We collectively discussed how true wellness requires a holistic approach; nutrition, financial stability, spiritual connection, resources, physical movement, and deep community support.

As a land steward, I believe food is medicine. Synthetic treatments often dominate, but our people know how a lack of traditional practices can lead to a cycle of sickness rather than wellness...that leads to mistrust and ultimately neglecting one's health. By embracing plant therapy, medicinal herbs, traditional foods, and community gardens, we address the root causes of dis-ease early!

From providing transportation, food and supply drives, supporting our elders, to educating our youth- bringing them up immersed in our culture like through GNAA, or simply gathering together at pow wows, community care is truly gonna be our strength.

We talked and did group discussion exercises mapping out the barriers our urban communities face. I look forward to future sessions like this, to weigh in on and witness the actionable next steps toward a healthier future for Native Communities. I walked away with such hope hearing all the ideas and concerns and knowing our farm is on a mission to make a positive impact on the community while also educating our youth.

Wednesday, GNAA had the honor to host the UNC American Indian Center Listening Session for Urban Indian Communities!

We are so glad to have had representation from our counterparts in Raleigh and Fayetteville as well as our friends from the AIC!

Thank you to our community members who came out and participated! 🪶🩵
