This poor mama was on the struggle bus. After watching for quite a while and not having any progress, we decided to give a little assistance. Lambs have been Viv's project since day one so there was never a question of who would be getting their hands dirty(I have helped in the past when it was more complicated). We are firm believers that if you give them the tools, kids are so incredibly capable. The look of pride on her face is everything 💚

Another round of pigs has arrived at Unruly Acres and we are taking reservations for shares! Our pigs are raised and cared for by us with love and room to roam. No tiny crates here! The butcher comes to our home to process the pigs so they aren't stressed and remain in a calm comfortable setting until the very end. Our goal is to make sure these pigs live the happiest lives. All of this results in the best meat possible for you and your family!
Details are as follows:
-We have whole and half pigs available
-Pigs are $3 per lb hanging weight
-Deposits are required to reserve a pig $150 half/$250 whole
Butchering Fees
-Butcher Fee $40
-Processing Fee .85 per lb hanging weight
-$30 vacuum sealing
-$1.25 per lb sausage
The pigs should finish out around 250lbs and will be processed and ready for pickup 2/25 & 2/26. You get to determine the cuts and products you want (bacon, ham, sausage, steak, chops, etc) and the finished meat will be sealed and ready for your freezer. Smoking is an additional fee through Country Smoke House or your own vendor. You are purchasing the live pig from us and we are handing it to the butcher for you (legalities and such🙄). You will pay the butcher directly and are responsible for picking up your meat at the specified time in Dryden MI
*If you typically get a pig from us in the spring, please consider getting one from this round rather than waiting. The kids are showing pigs with 4H this year and we're not sure we will be taking on additional pigs at the same time.
