Butterfly Big Day was today! 🦋🌱
Butterfly Big Day is a global community science event where people around the world spend a single day finding and photographing wild butterflies.
Thanks to some friends, The Purple Llama participated by watching out for pollinators in our fields.
While today was all about spotting and logging these beautiful insects, it is also an important reminder of why they matter. Pollinators are the backbone of our ecosystem.
Why we need them:
• Food Security: Nearly one-third of the food we eat relies directly on pollinators like butterflies, bees, and beetles.
• Biodiversity: They help wild plants reproduce, which creates habitats and food for countless other wildlife species.
• Healthy Habitats: A strong pollinator population is a clear sign of a healthy, thriving environment.

We had a wonderful weekend at Draper Village Heritage Market. Saturday morning's weather was perfect (we'll ignore the early afternoon rain & storm) and it was so wonderful to see the community. The Purple Llama sold out of some fan favorites and we'll work on restocking before October. Addionally, we'll have more fall themed soap.
