Heartbreak Brewing was fermented in the mind of Dan Haggerty Jr, an experienced home brewer who found that he couldn’t get enough experimenting with different ingredients and processes, and loved to share his beer with anyone old enough and willing to drink. After his first extract-batch, he was hooked on brewing his own beer and making his own recipes. A LOT of trial, error, and equipment later,
and Heartbreak Brewing started to become reality. After many life changes, including work to become sober, Dan found that there weren't enough options for good non-alcoholic beer near him. He decided to adjust his goal, and name, to something more fitting this new lifestyle, and to give others better N/A options. We are currently working to build the best equipment, perfect our brewing process, get all of our licenses sorted, and make our recipes the best they can be. By brewing in smaller batches, we will have the ability to focus on quality and experimentation. When building recipes, we don’t build to suit a certain style of beer. Instead, our beer is formulated by how we want to make the drinker feel with each sip. Whether drinking to remember summers gone by, or to be warmed in the cold Iowa winters, to toast to new love, or to celebrate newly being single. We are also planning two barrel-aged, limited releases each year, the first (hopefully) coming for The Feast Day of Saint Amandus, the Patron Saint of Brewers. Sláinte! Dead Sober Brewing
