This is day two of cover crop grazing this season. These are our “fats” (& a Jersey dry cow) over the hill at our neighbors. There are 12 different species of plants in this mix. The white flowers are buckwheat, & there are sunflowers just getting ready to bloom.
The second video is what it looks like after they’ve been there for 24 hours! That’s just what we want, everything eaten or trampled. That’s what we mean by regenerative—the plants feed the cows & build the soil at the same time as the cows fertilize and harvest the fields. It’s a beautiful thing & the cows love it!

It's finally compost season! Our prices are still the same, no increases since 2024, bags are $7/each and a skid steer bucket is $20.

If you aren't familiar with our compost, here's a quick description--It’s an aged mix of cow manure, wood chips we use for bedding, and some hay that didn’t get eaten. It sits in a windrow over the summer, and in fall we gently turn it, move it, and let nature do the rest. The result is a rich, organic mix, a vermicast, full of worms and microbes that will improve your soils more than any commercially available product.
