If it feels like the season has gotten away from you, it hasn't.
Late April in The North is when many of the most important seedlings actually want to get started. It just doesn't always look that way when the ground is still frozen and everyone on the internet seems to be a month ahead.
This weekend, I'm filling trays with tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cabbage, kale, lettuce, spinach, celery, and basil. Nine crops that all belong there right now, each for its own reason.
I pulled together a short post with what each one needs and why this timing works, if you want a little more direction as you get going:

The season doesn't rush in up here. It builds. And this is the weekend it starts to take shape.
What's going in your trays this weekend? Let's us know in the comments!
