Whole Foods Co-op is proud to work with and support local businesses. In addition to working with many small vendors and farmers throughout the Twin Ports region, we also prioritize local for our maintenance and service needs.
Over the past few weeks we were excited to work with Sinnott Blacktop to patch, sealcoat, and repaint our parking lots. Beyond being a local family-owned business, Sinnott Blacktop, LLC also goes out of their way to use the most ecologically friendly products in the Northland. Blacktop and sealcoating products are typically very harsh and can be toxic to the environment. Sinnott uses a product called Enviro-Kote, developed and produced in Minneapolis, specifically for use in our region.
Enviro-Kote is designed with the use of non-toxic, non-hazardous, natural raw materials. A large portion of the mix is a recycled by-product aggregate that would normally be discarded into landfills. It is free of coal-tar and has one of the lowest Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons levels in the industry, or PAH.
Shopping local and supporting enviromentally friendly products is important to Whole Foods Co-op, and we're proud to be able to do both with our recent project that extends the life of our parking lots.
