The end of an era

Got the side racks knocked down getting ready for transport tomorrow to this ol girls new home in Bosque farms nm. Kind of a bitter sweet moment. I love that Iā€™ll never have to run a roadsider again and that this thing is getting put back to work where it belongs. But itā€™s also a bit sad, picking up hay with a bale wagon has been the only way Iā€™ve known most of my life. This machine was also one of the first pieces of equipment my dad and I purchased together. My dad could always make more loads in a day with these machines then I ever could I just couldnā€™t ever top his production, he was the hay hauling pro. I spent many of of hours in the seat on this one and many more in my grandpas 1049 sitting in the corner of the cab running the bale pick up lever for my dad having the time of my life as a little kid. So in a way this thing going makes me miss my dad but Iā€™m also glad itā€™s headed down the road, bale bundlers are awesome.

Goodbye ol friend. Weā€™ve had a lot of good times and a lot of bad times together but we always built you back stronger. I know you have 1000s of bales ahead of you yet, your new owner is going to love you.
