We are not quite there yet but this is what an (almost) zero waste day looks like..
Cut up onions and peppers to cook overnight and can tomorrow. Waste goes in two containers. One is what the chickens can/ will eat. The other is the rest of the onion skins and pepper tops that go into a zip shut mesh bag. All produce scraps will go in there this week if it does not go to the chickens and then at the end of the week, I will make bone broth with the bones left from dinner this week, and I will throw that bag of vegetable parts in there as I cook it down to make a more flavorful broth. After the bones have been cooked down, and I make bone broth, the remainder of the bones will go back out to the chickens to pick over. οΏΌ
