It sure feels like a Rosé kind of day. 🌹The 2025 Vernier Clos Rosé has officially arrived in the Tasting Room and online, just in time for sunshine, long lunches, and golden hour in the Dundee Hills. And spotted in the wild… founder enjoying retirement the right way at the .inn in Vermont, finishing off a bottle of rosé. We approve. 🍷

A special thank you as well to for the beautiful blooms brightening up the tasting room. 💐

Today, on Earth Day we’re honoring the one and only Bill Sweat, Founder Emeritus, whose hands-on commitment to Biodynamic® farming helped shape Winderlea into one of Oregon’s first certified vineyards, establishing the low intervention approach that continues to define our wines today.

Faced with aging vines and conventional advice to replant, Bill chose another path: care for the living system beneath. Guided by pioneers like , , and he embraced farming rooted in soil health, biodiversity, and natural rhythm.

As Bill shared with us, “That rhythm has become my life for the past twenty vintages. It colors how I see the vineyard and what it needs.”

Building on the foundation Bill established, we’re proud to continue farming this historic estate as Certified Biodynamic®. 🌎🍇

When Joth said he was getting the band back together, he meant it. Some things pick up exactly where they left off. Turns out they were always just a walk through the vineyard away.

Celebrating the beginning of spring with our extended Winderlea family up from Southern Oregon. A creative crew full of new ideas and ready for what’s ahead. Stay tuned for new Winderlea experiences on the horizon.

Oh, if these vines could talk, what a story they would tell. One of resilience, grit, and the quiet wisdom of more than five decades watching Oregon wine take its place on the world stage. 🌿

Planted in 1974 and own-rooted, they were always living on borrowed time. Like so many old vines, phylloxera slowly took its toll, but not before they gave us so much.

What you’re seeing is part of the natural cycle. A small portion of our original vineyard, making way for what comes next. As these vines step aside, we’re creating a bit more space for the work of the vineyard and welcoming guests.

It’s never easy to say goodbye, but these old vines have done their part. And will continue to live on in our Legacy wines.

Now, it’s time for them to rest. 🍂
