Join us for Story Time this Thursday at 10am CST!

Want to inspire a sense of wonder about the natural world and a love of gardening in your kids? Join us for Story Time at the Farm this Thursday 6/18 at 10am CST. We’ll follow the journey of a seed in beloved children’s author Eric Carle’s classic book, The Tiny Seed. Then the kids will have a chance to plant their own seed to take home!

We’re open for U-Pick Berries & Blooms Thursday from 7am-2pm CST!
Farm admission is $1/person. Berries are $5/pound. Flowers are $16/cup!

We received the most lovely gift at the farm this week. We had a fabulous group of kids here for a field trip on Monday to learn about growing blueberries. One of the little girls drew a beautiful picture of our farm complete with a barn, chickens, and some amazing blueberry plants!

Someone recently asked me what I love about what we do here. There are a lot of things I love about farming. But this was a perfect example of one of them. It’s an opportunity to share this space with people and to see them enjoy it. An opportunity to connect with creation and connect with each other through the farm.

The next time you visit the farm, you will likely see this priceless piece of artwork framed and on display at the pavilion! ❤️

How many berries can your bucket hold?? We’ve created a leaderboard here at the farm for who can pick the heaviest single bucket of blueberries! So far, one of our own crew members holds the record at a whopping 7.8 lbs in a single bucket! 😳
Can you beat his record? We’ll keep the competition going all season and have a giveaway at the end for the winner! Come fill your bucket on one of our U-Pick days!

From the farm to the kitchen...

It’s the season for one of our favorite local partnerships! For years, Allen and I have taken classes with Jeff and Heather Pennypacker at the Sweet and Savory Classroom in Chattanooga. Their kitchen offers a range of cooking classes from date night classes (which we highly recommend), to kids classes and even team-building classes. Allen and I have had a blast cooking with friends at the date night events. Allen’s favorite was lighting the fire for the onion volcano at Hibachi Night. We’ve taken each of our kids for a fun and unique one-on-one outing (just ask Meredith about the melt-in-your-mouth Viennese Whirls). We partnered with them last summer and are excited to do so again this season to provide blueberries for some of their upcoming classes! If you’re looking for a fun and unique experience and looking to hone your cooking skills, check them out! It’s a day of laughter here at the farm as the flowers are bursting with color and the bushes are loaded with blueberries! We’re open until 2pm today for U-Pick Berries & Blooms! And join us for Story Time at 10 CST as we learn about all the beneficial insects that keep our world green and growing! We’ll share Flora Caputo’s beautiful book, Summer’s Flight, Pollen’s Delight and then we’ll release over 1,000 ladybugs at the farm!

Join us for Story Time this Thursday, June 11 at 10am CST!

This week we’re learning about the pollinators and other beneficial bugs that help keep our world green and growing! Join us as we read Summer’s Flight, Pollen Delight by Flora Caputo. Our featured bug of the week will be ladybugs! Come to enjoy the story and then help us release a few thousand of these aphid-eating machines at the farm! In addition to feasting on pesky aphids, these spotted beauties double as incidental pollinators, transferring pollen from flower to flower as they travel.

The farm will be open for U-pick Berries & Blooms this week:
Thursday 7am-2pm
Friday 4pm-8pm
Saturday 7am-2pm

Farm admission is $1/person. Berries are $5/lb. Flowers are $16/cup. And don’t miss the blueberry lemonade and other handmade farm products at the farmstand!
