Hailey's Happy Hens

Hailey's Happy Hens Hailey's Happy Hens provides farm fresh chicken eggs to the local community. Hailey's Happy Hens currently includes thirty-one laying hens and three roosters.

Our chickens maintain a completely natural diet, including a combination of foraging, all-natural feed from the local Co-op, seeds, grass, and the occasional fruit or vegetable treat. Eggs are currently available for $2.00 per dozen, or $1.00 per six eggs. A few 18-count cartons are also available. Hailey's Happy Hens will provide a $0.25 discount when the 12-count yellow cartons are returned. Due

to the fact that they are Styrofoam, Hailey's Happy Hens would like to encourage customers to recycle them by returning them for continuous use. All egg cartons will be cleaned before they are used again, for sanitation purposes. Please feel free to message us with any questions or inquires, and we will be happy to respond.

I have 19 dozen eggs, for $2 a piece. I have 12 dozen eggs that are $5 a dozen.

The two dollar eggs are GOOD. But need to be used this week. Scramble, fried, baking, etc...
They are 4 weeks~ old.

Everything else is newer and will last another 3-5wks. They will stay freshest if refrigerated.

If you comment here, I will do my best to get them to you.

These are free range, hormone free, natural chickens and their eggs have been lightly washed and candled to ensure against cracks, pecks, etc....

We usually only sell privately, but have had several people reach out to us as the stores run dry.

Limit of 2 dozen per family. If you do not *need* eggs please don't buy them. Good fresher eggs are always in the works.

As this continues Hailey's Happy Hens will do it's best to help as many people as possible. Please check here regularly if you would like eggs.

Guess what!

Due to some strange circumstances, Hailey's Happy Hens has started raising a new flock unexpectedly!

My nephews will also be receiving 50 new chicks for 4-H next week, so it looks like we're starting a new chicken farm!

We're still on the outs for chickens, but my nephew participated in the 4-H chicken program, and now they're having an excess of eggs! Hailey's Happy Hens will temporarily be assisting him with his egg sales, to help keep his parents from being swamped. Maybe I can convince him to start his own egg sales under Brodye's Brooding Birds? 😃

We are on a temporary hiatus for egg production. All of the chickens have, unfortunately, passed away as the result of a tornado hitting the farm last fall. Plans are in place to replace the flock and continue farming, but we are currently not selling eggs.

However, my nephew joined the 4-H chicken raising program, and has recently started gathering a few eggs! He may be interested in selling eggs, once his chickens are laying regularly. They have been raised in the same environment as Hailey's Happy Hens!

I apologize for not updating sooner, but several things have been happening in our lives since the tornado. We have been working on rebuilding at my parents' farm, and my husband and I gave birth to our first child! Things are staying positive.

Thanks for your continued support, and God bless!

Egg cartons these days are often plastered with an array of terms that can confuse and even mislead consumers. Here's a glossary of carton jargon for the wannabe informed egg buyer.

A modern broiler, or meat chicken, grows incredibly fast. The bird suffers as a result, and some critics say its flavor does too. Now Whole Foods wants its suppliers to shift to slower-growing breeds.

This is a quick little read if you're curious about whether to refrigerate your eggs or not. The shelf life extension is a huge plus, though!

In many countries, eggs aren't refrigerated and they're still considered safe to eat. But in the U.S., we have to chill them, because we've washed away the cuticle that protects them from bacteria.
