🐐💨 Home… and Immediately Hit With Buck Cologne 💨🐐

We had a great time away, but mercy… it feels good to be home for a little bit. We missed our bunch something fierce.

We’ve got one more trip before breeding season kicks off — and the boys are already acting like they’re starring in The Bachelor: Goat Edition.

People always tell me, “Intact bucks smell HORRIBLE, I don’t know how you stand it!”
And normally I’m like, “Eh, it’s not that bad.”

But right now?
Oh honey…
These boys are marinating in their own Eau de Casanova.

It’s potent.
It’s powerful.
It’s the kind of smell that hits you at the gate and follows you all the way back to the house like a lovesick cloud.

They’re strutting, tongue flapping, peeing on their faces like it’s a high-end spa treatment — absolutely convinced they are irresistible.

Breeding season isn’t here yet, but the boys?
They’re already writing love letters in the air.

Farm life: where the romance is strong… and the smell is stronger.

A little time away from the farm, soaking up the sun. It has been a wonderful week, and it's hard to believe it's almost over.

God is truly awesome in His creation, and we are so grateful and blessed to experience the beauty that surrounds us. We are also incredibly thankful for our wonderful daughters, mom, and nephew, who have lovingly taken care of our spoiled-rotten goats and dogs while we've been away. We couldn't do this without them, and we are so grateful for their help and support.

This summer has been crazy busy — the goats are thriving, the kitchen’s been hoppin’, and we’re ready for a market day!
Come see us tomorrow Saturday, Aug 15 at the Tappahannock Farmers Market.
Goodies galore, friendly faces, and maybe a goat story or two.
Y’all come on out!

If y’all know us, you know our hearts — we’ll follow the Lord anywhere He points… even if it means stirring a whole lotta spaghetti. 🍝😄

Come hang out with us Sunday, Aug. 9 at Howerton’s Baptist Church! Enjoy a wonderful message, then stick around for our spaghetti fundraiser lunch right after service.

We’re raising support for our NOW Costa Rica mission trip in September — and trust me, you’ll want to hear all the fun, faith-filled things God is doing through this team. 🇨🇷✨

So come fellowship, eat good food, laugh with us, and learn more about the mission we’re blessed to be part of. We can’t wait to see y’all there!

Y’all know our deep love for God and the missions He places on our hearts. We’d be honored if you’d come out and support one of those missions that means so much to us — and enjoy an amazing dinner while you’re at it.

I’ll be there to meet and greet each one of you, and I can’t wait to hug some necks, share some smiles, and thank you in person for being part of our farm family. We love y’all dearly and look forward to seeing our community show up, support, and love on this mission together.

The grandbabies officially took over Rooted Up Farm while we snuck away for a much‑needed vacation. They ran the place like seasoned pros — goats fed, eggs gathered, chaos contained.

We spent our getaway at Niagara Falls, soaking in all that beauty, and then toured the sweetest little carousel museum. Mom turned into a kid in a candy store the moment she walked in… I’m pretty sure she tried to adopt half the horses.

Feeling refreshed, grateful, and proud of our tiny farm crew. 💛

Today we celebrate Parent Appreciation Day, and we want to shine a bright spotlight on our Mommas, Lynetta Porter Cardona Glenn and Margaret Kasey. We love you ladies more than y’all know.

We have been so blessed with two wonderful women who love us fiercely and faithfully. Even though we’re grown with children and grandchildren of our own, we still couldn’t do this life without y’all. We’re still learning from you every single day.

We are so grateful for all the years we’ve had with you and pray for many, many more. Thank you for everything you do, for every sacrifice, every lesson, and every bit of love you pour into us.

Y’all deserve the most wonderful day. We love you deeply. ❤️

Summer on the farm means two things: goats acting goofy… and grandbabies acting goofier.

Our little farmhands have been here most of the summer, learning, helping, feeding, chasing, giggling — and yes, milking goats like tiny pros. I swear they strut out of the barn like they just ran the whole dairy operation themselves.

They’ve hauled hay, filled water buckets, collected eggs, loved on the babies, and somehow gotten dirtier than the goats — which I didn’t think was possible.

The goats love them. We love them more.
And if joy had a sound, it would be grandbabies laughing while a goat tries to sneak the feed bucket.

Feeling grateful for this busy, beautiful season and the tiny humans who make it even sweeter. 💛🐐

I scream, you scream, we all scream for goat milk ice cream.
