It’s a fresh pasture kind of week around the farm! 🌱

On the Farm this week💚

🐷 The pigs moved onto a new pasture and wasted no time exploring, rooting, and enjoying the fresh space.

🐥 Our first batch of chickens for the year headed off to the processor, which means chicken season is officially underway.

🌾 The chicks that had been growing in the brooder moved out to the mobile range coops on pasture, and a new batch of baby chicks will be arriving soon to fill the brooders again.

Lots of moving pieces, lots of fresh starts, and the farm cycle keeps rolling!

🌱 Spring farm mode: ON.

This week we wrapped up plowing fields to get ready for planting corn, and rotational grazing is in full swing. That means the cattle are moving through fresh sections of pasture instead of staying in one spot too long.

Why does that matter?

🐄 Fresh grass for the cattle
🌱 Healthier pastures
🌧️ Better water absorption
🌎 Less erosion
🌾 Stronger soil over time

It’s one of those simple farm practices that does a lot of good — for the animals, the land, and the future of the farm.

We also took another group of hogs to Dover Processing, which means more pork will be making its way back to the farm soon!

Spring is busy, but it sure feels good to see everything moving. 💚

Spring is in full swing on the farm 🌱

• Pasture rotation has officially begun for our grass-fed beef
• 25 healthy calves are already on the ground
• A brand new litter of piglets joined us this week
• Cows and calves are out enjoying fresh green pasture
• Got some bulldozing work done on the farm
