Buttermilk Biscuits
Ingredients (10–12 Biscuits)
* 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
* 1 tbsp baking powder
* ½ tsp baking soda
* 1 tsp salt
* ½ cup (115 g) cold butter, cubed
* ¾ cup (180 ml) cold buttermilk
Method
1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Add buttermilk and mix just until a dough forms.
5. Pat dough to 2 cm thickness and fold it over itself 3 times.
6. Cut into biscuits using a cutter.
7. Place on a baking tray with edges touching.
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
9. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
Tips
* Keep ingredients cold for flaky layers.
* Do not overwork the dough.
Cheddar Biscuits
Ingredients (10–12 Biscuits)
* 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
* 1 tbsp baking powder
* 1 tsp salt
* ½ tsp garlic powder
* ½ cup (115 g) cold butter, cubed
* 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
* ¾ cup (180 ml) milk
Method
1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
3. Cut in the cold butter.
4. Stir in the cheddar cheese.
5. Add milk and mix until combined.
6. Drop spoonfuls or cut biscuits from rolled dough.
7. Arrange on a baking tray.
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
9. Brush with garlic butter if desired.
Tips
* Sharp cheddar gives the best flavor.
* Avoid overmixing for tender biscuits.
Herb Biscuits
Ingredients (10–12 Biscuits)

* 2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or rosemary)

6. Pat out and cut into biscuits.

Honey Biscuits
Ingredients (10–12 Biscuits)

* 3 tbsp honey
Method
1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in the cold butter.
4. Stir honey into the milk.
5. Add to the flour mixture and mix gently.
6. Pat dough out and cut into biscuits.
7. Place on a baking tray.
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
9. Brush with warm honey butter before serving.
Tips
* Excellent with breakfast spreads.
* Do not overbake to keep them soft.
Bacon Biscuits
Ingredients (10–12 Biscuits)

* 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Method
1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
4. Stir in the crumbled bacon.
5. Add milk and mix until a dough forms.
6. Pat out the dough and cut into biscuits.
7. Arrange on a baking tray.
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
9. Serve warm.
Tips
* Drain bacon well before adding.
* Add cheddar cheese for extra flavor.
