Brown Cow Soap

Hand made, small batch, artesian milk soap made directly on the farm in Oklahoma from Jersey Cow milk from our own cows. My husband was sure I had lost my mind!

My husband has farmed and ranched his whole life while I grew up a few blocks from the grocery store. One of the things everyone asks when you farm/ranch for a living is, "Can you milk a cow?" My answer was, "Oh my no!" Well times change and so do people and I decided I should learn to milk a cow! I love to cook and having a family milk cow seemed like a grand idea to experiment with butter, che

eses, yogurts ect. In the course of a year we ended up with a small garden, 4 rabbits, 130 chickens and 2 very very spoiled Jersey cows!! I try to keep the page updated with things we are selling, what the cows are up to, wheat harvest, cattle workings, what trouble the animals are getting into, recipes and what new adventures I have planned (along with Jeremy's grumblings about my plans) and just general education for folks who don't know or realize what goes into their food. As most of you know life has been pretty wild after my Father In Law took a fall.
I have TheTwisted Pearl Salon downtown Cheyenne all stocked up!
I personally will be there about noon - 6 on Friday and will be hanging out with Brittany all day Saturday.
Come see me and stock up on stocking stuffers, teachers gifts etc!
I’m going back to pre-covid prices for this weekend in person only!
All soap is $7 a bar, 3 for $20 and scrubs, beard balms/oils lotions etc will be $10, breathe bars will stay at $15 because good essential oils are pricey!

Brown Cow Soap Begins

My husband has battled eczema his whole life and I have very sensitive skin. When our son was about 5 years old we found out he was allergic to pretty much everything. I began to learn more about synthetic items in our every day life to try and help hime. In August of 2016 I got a Jersey milk cow more as a hobby and because I like to bake. I quickly learned that Jersey cows give a LOT of milk! So I decided to try my hand at making soap. I figured if you could make soap from goats milk there was no reason I could not make soap from cow’s milk. It’s composition is very similar other than it has more cream. I wanted a very skin friendly and moisturizing soap. Since my husband is a farmer and rancher he get’s super dirty! So I really needed him to be clean, but did not want his skin to be dried out. With my son having asthma I wanted soap that smelled nice but would not cause him breathing problems. I also wanted the soap to be naturally colored, no FDA colors and I also wanted any commercial fragrance to be pthalate free for myself and my daughter as I did not want any endocrine disruptors. I also wanted to use essential oils..... let’s be honest...I need this soap to do a lot of different things for a lot of different reasons!

I believe I have some wonderful milk soap recipes and I hope you will agree! I have soaps for every skin type, scented, essential oil and unscented! Let me know if you have any questions about any of my products.
