🐾 An Update from Black Dog Homestead 🖤
Life has been exceptionally difficult over the past year and a half, and unfortunately, it's taken a toll on our little homestead.
I've tried so hard to keep the farm stand going, but after dealing with the flooding this year and everything else life has thrown our way, it simply became too much to manage.
In an effort to lighten the load and reduce some of the stress, I made the difficult decision to rehome one of my two chicken flocks. While it was the right decision for us, it also means our egg production has slowed significantly, and we're no longer able to offer eggs in the quantities we once did.
For now, we do not have any eggs available for sale. I'll continue to share updates as we navigate the coming months and figure out our next steps.
This little homestead has brought me so much joy, and stepping away from something I've poured so much time, energy, and love into hasn't been easy. Sometimes life forces us to make changes we never planned for.
I'm not ready to say goodbye to Black Dog Homestead, but I am learning that sometimes it's okay to slow down, reassess, and give yourself a little room to breathe.
