First crop ✔️

I honestly do not love making hay. Yes, the smell is amazing, but if you’ve ever stacked hay you probably know what I mean. And for those of you that don’t know, I welcome you to come for next crop and experience it. We can always use extra hands. 🤪

And I shouldn’t complain because Joey did the majority of it while I was with the kids. And regardless how much either of us stacked the last few days I think both of our 30 something bodies are a little sore today.

Wanted these pictures permanently on the feed for when I want to reminisce someday.

They were counting down until Mother’s Day. 🪻

They love our tradition, and they know that it’s always a fun day. And I can’t help but wonder how much longer they’ll count down to spend the day together. How much longer they’ll think we’re “cool”. Before I know if they’re going to be saying “ugh, Mom, we’re too old for this.” 🤪

(Maybe not, but I’m just going to tell myself they will in case it actually happens and then I won’t feel SO crushed. 😂)

I used to spend a lot of time in the buddy seat. Now that we have kids they’ve taken over my spot. Im not mad about it. However, I’m not sure what they enjoy more, hanging out with or all the snacks they get to bring. 😅

Planting 2025 in the books! Next up, spraying, and first crop hay is right around the corner.

It’s been a minute 👋🏼

This Spring has been insanely busy. I have tons of videos that may or may not ever surface on the socials. Memories that are for my family and I. And lots of times I didn’t remember to take out my phone to capture moments but will remember the life lessons forever.

I’m enjoying this stage of life, and love the ability to share when and how I please. But really do love sharing the farm. So, hopefully I can find a moment to edit some content for you, and share the magic of lambing.

In the mean time, thanks for hanging in there for the random Recker Farms content! 😉

Today we had a lamb born. Yup. We haven’t had any action in a solid 2+ weeks, but we haven’t a few ewes hanging on, and in my opinion, they need to get it rolling. 😂

I let this lambing group out on pasture for a few days to mow some grass down, and I weaned our other group up at the barn. The sheep barn is coming along and we’re waiting on the final stage to make it usable. I do have a video of Ford giving a tour, so that is in the works!

There’s a lot of labor of love going into the farm this time of year and it requires a lot of hands, big, and small. 💜

Wrapping up the last F O U R years. 💙

It’s been hard, fun, crazy, and everything in between. My favorite memory is packing orders with the kids. (They actually said the same thing when I asked too!) What I loved most was the connections I made with other small businesses. I’m most grateful for everything I’ve learned. Seriously, the knowledge I have because of this business is something I can hang on to forever.

One month left selling meat is crazy!

I’ve been doing this for 4 years now, and I’ve learned so much, met so many people, and have really stepped out of my comfort zone.
