Greetings, friends of Trillium Forest Farm -

Spring has indeed sprung! Trillium Forest Farm is a most colorful place - in the orchard, in the garden, even subtle hues of yellows of Johnny JumpUps, whites of trilliums and Spring Beauties and purples of bleeding hearts liberally sprinkled among the spring green of the wood sorrel on the forest floor.

Fruit trees are blooming or just about finishing up and fruit set looks promising. Bees have been busy visiting the blueberry blossoms. Rhodys and our redbud trees are putting on quite a show. Even our hens have started laying eggs again. What a lovely, hopeful time of year this is!

Dear friends -

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and this is a perfect time to express our appreciation for your support for our farm and our organic practices, both in years past and during this latest growing season.

As the garden was being "put to bed" this week, I was filled with gratitude for the healthy bounty that our orchard, berries and vegetable gardens gave to us this year. It was also our pleasure and privilege to share some of that abundance with you. Roger and I enjoyed meeting those of you who became our new customers this year as well as you folks who have bought our fruits and vegetables through many seasons.

We appreciate you all and wish you much joy and the best of health in the quiet months to come.

We hope to see you again next year!

Cathy and Roger

Autumnal greetings from Trillium Forest Farm!

Our harvest season is slowly winding down. Here's what's still available at our chemical-free farm this week ~

Sweet and juicy Eldorado pears (about 35 pounds available) $1.50/lb.

Asian pears, Shinseiki, Nijisseiki and Chojuro varieties, (37 lbs. available), $1.50/lb.

Green apples, similar to but sweeter than Granny Smiths (about 19 lbs. available). $1/lb.

The dried corn stalks in the background are also for sale at 80 cents per stalk.

How do we set our prices? We look at current prices in our local grocery store for comparable organic fruits and vegetables and then charge half that amount.

Our health is important to us! No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are ever used on our farm and our fruits and berries are not near any dusty roads or car traffic.

We are open by appointment only, but we are flexible. Call ahead to schedule a time to visit. Delivery within 20 miles with a minimum $25 order can be arranged ($10 delivery charge).

Cash or check only.

Once again, we thank you for valuing our organic practices!

2023 was a challenging year for us! As many of you are aware, we were pulled in several directions. We want to give special thanks to those of you who continued to support our organic farm during our "gap year" from our normal life. We hope that 2024 is more mellow, with more time to enjoy all the good things that life has to offer. Near or far, no matter where you are, we are all connected.

Greetings to friends of Trillium Forest Farm!
We are slowly coming up to speed after that tremendous heat wave at the end of June that destroyed our gooseberries and currants and severely affected our blueberry bushes, too. We offered our past customers first chance to come out for limited amounts of blueberries as they have ripened. We are cautiously optimistic that we'll have more to offer, but want to wait until after this next hot spell to see for sure.

Our garden is doing well. Right now we have an abundance of kale, Swiss chard, beets, garlic and collards available. Zucchinis and basil are doing well. Our dahlias and other flowers are amazing. Green beans are coming soon. Please let us know if you are interested in any of these.

The orchard is doing great, with Keswick Codlin apples (the BEST apples for making applesauce) nearly ready for harvest (a couple of weeks away). It looks like there will be plenty of Brooks and Italian plums and lots of pears and Asian pears available. Other apple varieties will be coming on, too.

We're not sure yet about the extent of the sunburn damage to our nobles, but we'll keep you posted. Thank you for your interest in organically grown food and Trillium Forest Farm!!!
