ASSISTANT MARKET MANAGER
Location: Eagle Lake, TX
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is responsible for daily operation of the meat market,
Oversees the daily workflow of the store. Assists with schedules and assigns staff to ensure efficient operations and optimal customer experience
Ensures a consistent, efficient, pleasant customer experience; resolves any customer service issues, complaints, or requests
Continually seeks and identifies methods to increase store sales and profitability; makes recommendations and/or implements changes as appropriate
Develops metrics, milestones, and goals for employees; ensures goals are met
Ensures physical maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of all store facilities
Develops and/or implements inventory control and security systems
Operates meat processing equipment
Uses hand tools and power equipment to cut meat to specifications
Tenderizes, packages, weighs, labels, and prices meat products
Arranges meat products in display counter to attract attention of customers
Prepares special-ordered cuts of meat for customers
Ensures products comply with all food safety guidelines
Receives and stores meat and inventory when it is delivered and ensures its quality and freshness
Meets productivity, accuracy, and quality standards
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Exceptional customer service and managerial skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
• Ability to understand, create, and implement a budget
• Food Manager Certificate
• Ability to operate band saws and other meat-cutting equipment
• High school diploma or equivalent training gained through new hire orientation.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
• Disciplined, flexible and able to multi-task.
