Bindi Roo needs a new home. Are you willing to rescue her?

We believe she’s a Pit-Beagle mix, Approximately 5 years old. She is sweet and affectionate, and would love to be your cuddle buddy, but she does NOT do well with small children, and needs to be the alpha dog (which is why she cannot stay with us anymore, following another altercation with our border collie).

She does do very well with cats (as in, she likes them!).
She’s been an outdoor dog to us, but was an indoor dog previously and would adapt to that easily. Send us a message if you’re interested.

Monday ‘Mater Madness - LIMITED TIME ONLY! 🍅🍅

If you fancy yourself to be a canner of tomatoes, a salsa chef, or lover of tomato juice; the tomatoes have ARRIVED! We picked between 200-300 pounds of tomatoes this weekend!! This super abundance will likely last about a couple of weeks before summer production starts to decline into fall.

Meanwhile, we have lots of boxes of “canning” tomatoes for sale, 70% off of the premium price!

The difference? What ends up in the canner boxes usually have a few oddities to them: a funny shape, a bug bite, some spots…. But at this time of year, we get super picky with what is considered “premium,” and everything else goes into canning boxes!

Please don’t wait; we’d rather sell them to you than pick them for the cows to eat…! 😬🫣

A note on the different TYPES of tomatoes:
The heirlooms (blacks) have the best taste, and more acidity than the others, but they are “fragile” (bruising easily). The pink heirlooms are sweeter, with lower acidity (and much fewer of them this year). We have a few sauce or paste tomatoes, some of which you may find in canning boxes (they have not made it to the shelf otherwise yet, since they’ve had some issues this year).

UPDATE: you all are amazing! We somehow sold about 200 lbs of tomatoes yesterday, and are caught up for the moment on canners!

They will still be coming!

Meanwhile, we’ve reduced the price of our premium picks down to $2.50/lb ($3 for heirloom).

You’ll also find more of the momotaro tomatoes (“pink” heirlooms) on the shelf, and even a few of our first Roma paste tomatoes ($2.00/lb).

Side note: cantaloupe have taken a vacation, but we hope to have some coming back in soon.

Thank you all for your faithful patronage!

It’s a beautiful Monday, and the tomatoes are on! (Those grapes are looking lovely too!)

In case you don’t already know…
The Garden Shed is a small produce stand located just outside Eagle Point, Oregon. (1395 Brownsboro Highway)
We sell fresh vegetables grown right here on the farm. It started out as what was extra from his own garden, but our farmer, Jim Hubbard has outgrown the first garden, and second, and continues to grow more veggies than we could ever dream of using each year to share with you, who may not have the space, patience, or green thumb to grow your own homegrown vegetables.
We sell things like
Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Zucchini and Sunburst Scallops
Swiss Chard
Broccolini
Onions and garlic
Fresh herbs
Cantaloupe
Corn
Peppers
Flowers
Etc.

How it works:
Open Monday - Saturday (closed Sunday) approximately 8 am to 7or 8pm
It’s totally self service.
Inside the small red barn on the circle driveway you’ll find a list of prices and a scale for weighing your selections if needed. There is a clipboard where we ask that you record your purchases and tally the payment. Payment is cash or check only and deposited in a small yellow box by the door. Please bring a selection of change to have what you need.

We hope you all enjoy this hometown treasure and share it with your local friends and family.
We appreciate you all and your support.
