Massachusetts, I'm with you on this one.

Ten years ago, the people of Massachusetts made a clear choice: replace the old, restrictive policies with a safe, regulated, legal cannabis market. Now there's a ballot question, Question 8, trying to take that away. That's why I'm proud to endorse the No on 8: Stop the Repeal campaign.

I created Belushi's Farm to help people heal through rigorously tested, all-natural cannabis. I've seen what this plant can do. The veteran carrying PTSD. The grandmother fighting cancer. The folks battling sleepless nights, anxiety, or that quiet hopelessness. The parents just praying for something to ease their child's seizures.

Repealing recreational cannabis after a decade would pull the rug out from under all those people who depend on it for relief. It would gut a billion-dollar industry, hammer local economies, and strain the medical side too.

Everybody needs medicine. People have always reached for something to make them feel better, and I'm happy more and more folks are reaching for cannabis. It's safe. It's tested. It's generous and gentle. So Massachusetts, let's protect what you built. Vote No on 8.

Ever smoke something called Toad Venom? Roadkill Skunk?

I know, I know... the names sound ridiculous. But every one of them came from somewhere, and Forbes just dug into the whole wild story behind how this plant gets its names. They called up one of my guys, Mojave Richmond, our Director of R&D and one of the finest breeders I've ever met. Mojave's been at this for decades.

Back in the '60s and '70s, folks named their w**d for where it grew: Maui Wowie, Acapulco Gold, Big Sur Holy W**d. Then came names for how it looked, smelled, and made you feel.

That's how you got Purple Haze and Skunk. Somewhere along the way it got silly. Everybody chasing a name wild enough to make you laugh and curious enough to try it. And hey, I love a good laugh. But the best names carry a story.

Mojave's S.A.G.E. stands for Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium, which tells you exactly what the plant is. And our new Holy Pie ties the old-school Big Sur Holy W**d right into the Cherry Pie everybody loves today. The name means something. That's the magic right there.

Forbes put the spotlight on our own Mojave Richmond, Director of R&D at Belushi's Farm and one of the finest breeders in the game. The man's a genetics wizard.

Back home in Eagle Point, Oregon, our greenhouse has become a genetics hub, where Mojave develops, protects, and perfects every one of our strains.

Here's what he told Forbes:

"While today's marketplace is often driven by THC potency and price, cannabis offers far more than those simple metrics. At Belushi's Farm, we focus on preserving and expanding genetic diversity to provide consumers with unique cultivars and experiences... effects that may help address needs such as stress, anxiety, pain, and inflammation."

Is there a cannabis culture? Oh man, there’s a whole soul to it, and the business guys miss that. You can't fake it. Anybody can buy the lights and the greenhouse, but I've got my hands in the soil, and my face, my brother's face, Danny's face, the Blues Brothers name right there on the label. That legacy demands great w**d, at any cost. I'm on the farm all year, checking and creating our proprietary genetics and visiting every one of our partners.
