Chain O’ Lakes Brewery got it start like most brewery’s, with several guys sitting around talking smart and drinking their favorite craft beers that they created with their own home brewing kit in a basement in southern, WI. After creating several recipes that were a hit with friends and family, the only logical next steps were to come up with a solid business plan to go along with the outstanding
brews. In 2013, Jim Hartmann, the founder of Chain O’ Lakes brewery entered the business plan into an economic development contest at the City of Eagle River, and ended up winning the competition! Jim grew up in Eagle River and has a multitude of memories of spending days on the lake boating, hunting, fishing, playing pond hockey in the winter and the list goes on and on. He thought that Eagle River would be the perfect place to start a craft brewery. Over the next several months, you will begin to see Chain O’ Lakes Brewery at events selling our brews and we will “tap” into the local distribution channels throughout Northern, WI so you see the brews in your favorite bars and local stores! Eventually, Chain O' Lakes Brewery will establish a tap room in Eagle River, WI for all to enjoy!
