This is the 2nd year in a row that Belle has claimed Female of the Year! Last year while she was carrying Bronx, and this year with him on her side. A really fun pair to travel with. Bronx passed his semen test last month and went out to summer lease working on a herd last weekend. Excited to see those calves next year! We have been extremely impressed with his performance and growth.

Our most anticipated calf rounded out spring calving this morning; unassisted and ready to go. Out of our CB/S Western Belle 113 cow, the 2024-2025 & 2025-2026 West Region Shorthorn Female of the Year. Sired by CB/S Rolling Coal 120, the 2024-2025 West Region Shorthorn Bull of the Year.

Meet Bliss, a little Belle mini me. She even has the white on her udder too. Couldn’t have summed up a better name to describe how excited we (well more specifically, Siera who jumped for joy) was this morning that this little girl was a heifer calf.

This is Belle’s 3rd calf, and every time she calves, she reminds me why we love her, not just in type and kind but also as a mama cow. Docile, maternal, milk, you name it. Very well rounded female.

Bailey started her birthday off by having a little heifer this morning. Happy 10th birthday girl! This cow will always hold a special piece of my heart, the OG of CB Shorthorns. A wonderful example of the foundation this herd is built on - maternal, docile cows.

I might be biased, but I think Ember does a pretty nice job on the hairdo for her heifer calf Phoenix everyday😆 We take pride in producing docile cattle that are easy to work around.

Chilly morning today. Bailey is sporting some frost. This big girl will be 10 years old in March!

Got home this morning from our 12 day trip across the country. Headed over to Oklahoma for Cattlemen’s Congress early last week, to Denver Sunday evening for NWSS, and then back home to Idaho last night. Couldn’t have asked for better winter weather to travel!

We were able to get this pair out to show in 5 states this show season and have been impressed with Bronx’s growth at a 4.07 WDA (he’s available private treaty). This trip marked Belle’s last traveling show as well; she’s been successful in the ring while traveling thousands of miles over the last 3.5 years and will now enjoy a well deserved retirement from the show life.
