October 9, 2016 - exactly 10 years ago since I purchased my first beef heifer, and the female that would be the foundation and start of CB Shorthorns. Bailey!
16 year old me knew she was a quality heifer and exhibited a lot of the traits I wanted, but I had no idea what she was capable of. This cow is hands down one of the best decisions I've ever made. She is a phenomenal momma cow, and her progeny doesn't only do well in the ring, but also in production as cows and bulls, and on the rail as well. It's exciting everything that has gone into the last 10 years and I'm looking forward to what's to come in the future.
We head up to Billings today for the NILE. Stop by and say hi if you're in the area! All 4 head we're taking trace back to this cow. We've got 2 out of Bailey's well known daughter Belle, a calf out of one of Bailey's sons, and Bailey's 2026 heifer calf who I think resembles Bailey a lot; not only in color but type and kind too, and is one I think very highly of. This group of cattle shows off a lot of qualities that we breed for in this herd. The last 10 years have been full of highs, lows, and everything in between but I couldn't be more thankful for them and the people that have been a part of it.
