Hi All,
It's been a busy summer at the farm, and we've appreciated the opportunity to provide fresh produce to you this season through the farmstand and direct pickups. Below are a couple updates on items available for winter: Popcorn and grass-fed beef.
Popcorn is ready to order. Our new heirloom white variety is this year's special, and we have some of last year's multicolor stock available still.
Popcorn pricing:
White: $2/lb up to 9lbs, $1.50 for 10lbs and up
Multicolor: $1.50/lb for up to 9lbs, $1/lb for 10lbs and up
Grass Fed Beef:
We wanted to take a quick moment to give an update on our lean, grass-fed dairy beef availability. We have 2 lean steers scheduled to go in on January 7th, 2025, so we have a few available slots for orders that will be ready for pickup at the end of January or early February. If you've contacted us to get on the waitlist already, I have yours reserved tentatively, but do let us know your final orders to lock in. We do not require a deposit, and you can pay in full just prior to pickup. I have updated pricing estimates as well as an update on discount levels depending on split size. Tentative prices for this lean, grass-fed beef is as follows:
Whole: $3400
Half: $1725
Quarter: $875
Eighth: $450
Estimated weights for the portions are: Whole: 400 lbs, half: 200 lbs, quarter: 100 lbs, eighth: 50 lbs. The proportion of ground to cuts has come at about 25% ground with the remainder being cuts in prior years. These weights and proportions are estimates only, and the final product will vary depending on a number of factors.
Each portion includes stew meat, soup bones, roasts, steaks, cubed steaks, and ground beef.
Oxtail, heart, liver, and tongue are available to add on to any portion order for a small upcharge, but are of course limited, so they are first come-first serve based on order confirmation.
Again, this is lean, grass-fed dairy beef, which will have a different flavor and texture than standard finished beef, so please let us know if you would like a sample to try prior to making an order. We are happy to accommodate.
Beef portions are to be picked up locally at the locker. Pickup location, dates, and payment details will be sent once the steers are processed, which we expect to be near the end of January 2025.
