Today is a sad one as W***y passed away. He was 19 years old and a most remarkable cat. He was a constant companion to Peter throughout his disabilities and continued taking care of me after Peter's passing last year. He will be greatly missed by all of the fortunate folk that knew him or read about him. He was so much part of the apple farm. Please think positive thoughts about him and know that he is with Peter again.

This will be the last post for Highland Lake Apple Farm. We passed papers yesterday to a very pleasant couple, the Connolly's. We would like to thank Susan Bedard, from Caldwell Banker Real Estate, for her thoughtful, compassionate and caring approach to our needs yet promoting the house so well.

We cannot begin to thank all of our friends who helped throughout the past two years but especially over the past month. The cleaning out of the barn: top, bottom and underneath, the wood shed, oil shed, and back room.A special thank you to Herbie Barton and his brother for their expertise in dealing with hazardous waste, dumpsters, you name it the did it!! I have put some photos of the barn etc for those of you who never saw what it could look like!! It was always an organised chaos (Peter's !!)

We feel very privileged to have met so many wonderful people over the 33 years we lived at the farm. We were so fulfilled with our life there and now have so many memories that will stay with us for many years.

W***y, Peter and I send our very best wishes to all of our followers. Please keep in touch. I have a face book page: Mary Lloyd-Evans. You can find us at Lyon Brook Condominiums in New London.

THANK YOU

There is Pending on our home. It is bitter sweet as we will no longer own our beautiful home that is full of memories. However, it is time to move forward and we do like our new condo and the delightful members of the association. Wishing you all a happy Christmas and New Year

Peter, W***y and I send you the happiest of holidays and love, health and peace for the New Year.

This Saturday, November 9th. there will be an open house from 10-12. Please let your friends know about this opportunity to see the house. Peter and I hope that many will attend and realize that an affordable home is in their reach. It is in move in condition and has so much potential. We loved entertaining friends and family, meeting new friends, and all of the amenities of the area. The rail trail was hiked and skied along, the lake was beautiful and our neighborhood delightful.

We are hosting a Pick you own apples day on Saturday Sept 28th. There will also be an open house viewing from 11-1. We hope that our former customers can join us and new ones. It will be delightful to see everyone again.

Well, September is here and apple picking time is almost upon us! Our peaches have been quite amazing and thank you to Jesse Schust for helping me to pick the last 2 bushels!! The pears are still firm but tasty. The pigs and cows in the area are benefiting from the apple drops. We cannot begin to thank the Ponti's for all of the mowing and help.
Unfortunately, we have not had much interest in the purchase of our home. Neighbors and friends are amazed that it has not sold. Those who know the area, house and gardens say the right person has just not seen it. I do hope that person arrives soon!.
Peter and I continue to adjust to our condo and find it very appropriate for our needs at this point. Peter can be more independent which is very important. W***y has enjoyed his summer sitting on his chair out on the deck. I guess retirement agrees with him!
Our best wishes to all who have been so supportive

I cannot believe that we are half way through July. I picked the red currants two days ago and raspberries. The black currants are almost ready and the raspberries will be with us for a while! The perennials are looking splendid. We so miss being at the farm everyday and looking out into the gardens. However, we are a little more established in New London and have a very cheerful deck covered with herbs and flowers. I made the first batch of pesto today from our deck basil!

We are anxious to sell the home and there must be someone who will fall in love with it as we did 36 years ago! Please tell everyone that you know that it is on the market. There has been a price reduction so it is quite a steal for someone. There is so much potential as a great family home, airbnb, sustainable agriculture, close to lake, skiing, rail trail, and having a business.

July is such a great month for music. The New Hampshire Musical Festival, located in Plymouth is in full swing. Next week I will be singing in the Mozart's Mass in C minor. We are so fortunate to have so many venues in the area.

We hope that you are all enjoying the summer and finding time to explore all that New Hampshire has to offer.

Best wishes Mary and Peter
