We did our first real hive inspection today! Two frames that were empty 4 weeks ago are almost full of comb! The bees started making comb on the wrong side of our second box, so we had to remove some comb and encourage them to start making more from the top.

Shetland (L): very fine, cream Shetland roving. $8/4ounces. 144 ounces (9lbs) available.
This wool is from my lambs and the necks of my white adults. It's very soft, but I found it needed a little more attention as I spun to keep it even. It also has a bit more vm left in it than the other rovings (though it fell out easily). The lower price reflects these slight drawbacks. However, if you're looking to make traditional Shetland lace, this is the perfect wool for you!

I'm keeping two pounds of this for myself because I love it so much! It was hard to capture the true moorit coloring in these pictures. Imagine a medium reddish brown. He wasn't my softest sheep, but the color is fantastic and the spinning was super-fun!
