We are a small family farm located in Central NJ. How Claddagh Acres came to be...
The two of us (Jake & Allie) both share a love for animals and the outdoors. So when it came to purchasing a home, land was a must! With most family and friends being located within NJ, finding a spot in central NJ was ideal. Which led us to where we are, a property of just under 5 acres and a home to fit our growin
g family of 7! We moved here with our children, 2 dogs and a cat! Within a month or so we were gifted a duck named Marty McFly, obviously Marty needed friends...so that led to chickens, then goats, and more ducks and well you get the idea. Our farm is now home to 1 Highland/Dexter Bull, 4 goats, 12 ducks, 2 dogs, 3 roosters, 3 cats, 3 pigs, 3 turkeys and 24 Chickens. (All our animals are here to stay. This is their forever home, where they get to enjoy life and be loved)
How we chose the name Claddagh.. both Jake and I are of Irish decent. So choosing a word based off that part of our ancestry, that we not only share with each other but our children as well was important to us. The Claddagh symbol is often most found on a ring and represents Love (the heart), Loyalty (the crown), and Friendship (the hands). We share a LOVE with each other and each animal that calls this place home. With each animal that comes into our life we vow to remain LOYAL to them through their life and provide them with a safe place to call home. Our home and farm is a place for our FRIENDS (and family) to come and relax, to enjoy time with us and to experience the joy our animals bring. As you can see the Claddagh symbol is a wonderful representation of us and our devotion shared with our animals. Majority of our animals are rescues. This is their safe haven, where the past can be forgotten and all they need to know now is love and fun because they now have loving, loyal caretakers. Aside from our many animals, you can often catch Jake outside gardening, either weeding in his garden or pruning his grapes, blueberry bushes, or apple and pear trees. As well as tending to his newest addition, micro greens. Neither Jake or I grew up on a farm, but it was something both of us have always wanted, so we got here as fast as we could. On this page you'll get to catch up with us, see what our animals are up to, and watch as we take on our tiny farm journey and see where it leads us. The Kroese Family
