The holiday season is here whether we are ready or not! This season of life for our family has felt like the busiest yet, but we still want to make sure our maple goodies are available to be the perfect gift and on your breakfast table Christmas morning. For special gifts this year we are offering:

Maple Gift Bag — $25
- pint maple syrup (can upgrade to a quart for a total of $35, or downsize to a 1/2 pint for a total of $20)
- 1/4 lbs maple cream
- 6 piece maple candy

Large Maple Flight — $32
- An 8 oz bottle each of our golden, amber, and dark maple syrup for a chance to try them all and decide your favorite! Or it looks real pretty just sitting on a mantle…

Small Maple Flight — $20
- The same concept as our large flight but in 3.4 oz bottles.

Please message us to place an order for a gift set or for custom orders of syrup, cream, or candy. We have somewhat of a limited supply right now (thank you thank you thank you for all the support throughout the entire year) so please don’t hesitate to reach out!

A huge thank you to Uncle Dwight for making the maple flights come to life this year as Hubba is busy building us a house and changing diapers. And to my parents for never complaining (at least not to our face) about having extra people and maple supplies littering their kitchen quite often this time of year!! Not to mention the helping hand to bottle cream, package candy, or hold a baby! We love our village and we hope everyone has a safe and peaceful holiday season ♥️

Fall on the farm is always a favorite. Thankful for healthy people and animals, and all the new things fall has had to offer so far - new pasture, new pigs, and new help at the farmers market. How lucky our cows and steers are to have a million dollar view while grazing! 🍂🧡☀️

We closed out the 2025 fair season this month at the Big E in Springfield, Mass, which draws exhibitors from the New England states, New York and beyond. We took seven – six Jerseys and one Ayrshire – and couldn’t be more grateful with how they did:

Bridon ACC Gold, 1st place Jersey Junior Three-Year-Old, Junior and Open Shows and
- Intermediate Champion and Reserve Grand Champion of the Open Show
- Intermediate and Grand Champion of the Junior Show

SSF Magician Prance, 1st place Jersey Spring Two-Year-Old, Junior and Open Shows and
- Reserve Intermediate and Reserve Grand Champion of the Junior Show
- Reserve Intermediate Champion of the Open Show

HH Victorious CoCo Chanel, 1st place Jersey Fall Calf, Junior and Open Shows and
- Honorable Mention Junior Champion of the Junior Show

HH Overall Vienna, 1st place Jersey Summer Yearling, Junior and Open Shows

Deep-C Jordan Mamies Maggie, 1st place Jersey Winter Calf, Junior Show, and 4th, Open Show

Lazy M Auto Correct, 1st place Ayrshire Fall Calf, Junior Show, and 4th, Open Show
- Pulled out for Junior Champion line up of the Junior Show

HH Overall Madeira, 5th place Jersey Summer Yearling, Open Show

As a group, CoCo, Vienna and Madeira won 2nd Young Three Females

And Gold, Prance, CoCo, Vienna and Maggie garnered us 2nd Exhibitors Herd

It was an unbelievable week. We are gratified to have our homebred heifers and the cattle we purchased do so well. Thanks to Bridon Farms Inc. of Paris, Ontario, and Silver Spring Farm of Syracuse, NY for consigning such good yearlings to the New York Jersey Sale – Gold in 2023 and Prance in 2024 – and to Cooper Merrill of Seneca Falls, NY and Carl Foland of Schoharie, NY for making Maggie and Correct available this spring.

Show day was the cherry on top to a fun week with our family and fellow exhibitors. We missed Courtney, but she supported us from afar watching the livestream, boring poor Winona.

P.S. We send a special shout-out to Moira Poitras and the Big E staff for making it one of our favorite fairs; to Bill Van Orden who is the finest trucker, hoof trimmer and exhibit assembler and disassembler anyone can ask for; and to the exceptional talent of the photographers at Cowsmopolitan who captured and shared such great images during the shows, some of which we’ve included here.

We just spent the week at the Dutchess County Fair and what a week it was! There were about 400 dairy animals, 11 of which were in our string. Cole and Tommy participated in the Youth Dairy show on Wednesday with two animals each, and we showed all 11 on Thursday in the Open Shows. Here are the highlights:
🏆Ayrshire Junior Champion of both the Youth Show and the Open Show - Correct
Youth Jersey Show
🏆Junior Champion - Vienna
🏆Reserve Junior Champion - Coco Chanel
🏆Junior Honorable Mention - Maggie
Open Jersey Show
🏆Junior Champion - Maggie
🏆Reserve Junior Champion and Best Bred and Owned Under Two - Vienna
🏆Junior Honorable Mention - Coco Chanel
🏆Reserve Intermediate Champion - Gold
🏆Intermediate Honorable Mention - Emerie
🥇1st place Junior Best Three Females
🥇1st place Produce of Dam
🥈2nd Place Dairy Herd
🥇1st place Exhibitor’s Herd
And the grand finale of our week:
🏆Supreme Junior Champion - Maggie
While these accolades are a testament to the work and care put in throughout the year to make sure these animals look and feel their best at the show, we are especially proud of the fact that there were THREE generations of showmen from Hedges Homestead in the ring!

We will be back at the Catskill Farmers Market this summer selling our pure maple products. See us there next weekend!!
