Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures whose love, guidance, and example continue to shape us long after they’re gone. 💚Today, we’re honoring the memories of two very special men who helped shape the Pat’s Pastured family.

The first photo is Pat with his father, Frank, and his grandmother, Margaret (who lived to be 103!). Frank spent his career as a teacher, and his influence can still be felt every day. His curiosity, patience, and passion for helping others learn live on through Pat—whether he’s teaching regenerative farming practices, sharing knowledge with customers, mentoring team members, or passing lessons on to Marin and Cavan.

Next up is Kelly’s dad, Bill Barr, with Kelly, Marin, and Cavan. Bill was the kind of person who was always there when you needed him. From painting apartments and tackling projects to showing up for games, recitals, turkey distribution days, and countless moments in between, his generosity and loyalty never wavered. His spirit lives on in the way Kelly cares for others, builds community, and shows up for her family and the farm every single day.

While we miss them both dearly, we’re grateful for the values they instilled, the memories they gave us, and the countless ways their legacies continue through their children, grandchildren, and the community around them.

Today, we celebrate Frank, Bill, and all the fathers and grandfathers whose love continues to guide us.

From our hens to our neighbors. 🥚💚 Emily dropped off another egg donation to the , helping unload cartons alongside the pantry’s amazing volunteer team.

Every egg in this delivery was made possible through our Buy a Dozen, Donate a Dozen program. When you purchase a dozen eggs through the program, you take home a dozen and help provide a second dozen to local food pantries, meal sites, and food banks across Rhode Island.

Small actions add up. Thank you to everyone who’s helped fill these cartons and support our community.

Want to help? Add a “Buy a Dozen, Donate a Dozen” to your next order and help us keep the cartons coming. 🥚💚

Quality control crew reporting for duty. 🐾

Kelly made a trip out to the back pasture to check in on Abby and Beau, our livestock guardian dogs, and brought along something new for them to try: Turkey Jerky Treats.

Made with dehydrated ground turkey and turkey bones, these easy-to-break strips are perfect for training rewards, enrichment, or simply reminding your hardworking farm dogs that they’re appreciated.

Based on the tail wags, we’re pretty sure they approve. ✅ Available online for pickup, shipping, or delivery as well as in store at markets!

Join us for a Picnic on the Pasture! 🌾✨

Our good ole’ “Music + Dinner” summer events have gotten a name change… and a serious menu upgrade. 👀🍗 On July 16th, we’re welcoming back longtime farm favorite Bill Harley for an evening of live music, lawn games, fresh air, and one heck of a fried chicken dinner.

Chef Ray will be serving up:
🍗 Double Fried Chicken cooked in our own grass-fed beef tallow
🧀 Baked Mac + Cheese
🌽 Jalapeño Cornbread
🥔 Potato Salad
🥒 Dill Pickles
🍰 Seasonal Dessert

Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, kids, friends, and appetite — this is one of our favorite kinds of nights on the farm. 💚
Family-friendly, laid-back, and filled with good food, music, and community.

Pat Here! I went to one of the best parties the other day for my friend Ken Ayars, Chief of .dem’s Division of Agriculture and Forest Environment, who is retiring after 39 years of service.

I can’t say enough good things about him and the work he’s done for agriculture in Rhode Island. His incredible leadership is quiet support of so many important causes in our state. I would honestly say I wouldn’t be a farmer in Rhode Island if it wasn’t for him.

I can’t thank him enough and we’re gonna truly miss his service in the state. He always took on a task with humility and with great love for the agricultural community. He could be in a meeting with every different manner of political ideology, personal opinions, and stubbornness and emerge with amazing opportunities for change that serves the farmers of the state and the eaters of the state. We need more people in public roles like this.

Thank you for everything, Ken.
