Gather the Gang!

It’s unofficially the official last week of summer and we have a few fun ways to send it off right.

THURSDAY • We’ll be playing our brand of BOTANICAL BINGO! - don’t feel like playing? No sweat, you can still hang with us. La Cocina Cubana will be back in the house serving up that Cubano you’ve heard us constantly talking about along with a deep menu of delicious Cuban inspired eats.

FRIDAY • We will be tapping the first keg of our Märzen, ushering in the Oktoberfest season. Come by and enjoy a half liter of our copper hued festive lager. Maybe a new sandwich we’ve been cooking up to pair? *draft only - cans available 9/10*

SATURDAY • King of Pearl will be here all day slinging the best cheesesteaks and other goods to satiate your weekend appetite. It’s the UConn home opener just down the road at the Rent so if you’re in town for the game, come swing by.

SUNDAY • Business as usual before Labor Day - we’ll be hanging and serving up fresh sandwiches and pretzels.

See you all at TPB!

OLD FRIENDS PALE ALE // SPLIT THE P CHALLENGE!

We released a new beer a few weeks ago that we called Old Friends - heavily inspired by my time working up in Kittery, Maine at Tributary Brewing and my love for the OG Pale Ale’s that got me into beer.

Built around Maris Otter and a touch of Amber Malt we’re getting those classic marmalade / toasted layers that you’d find in English focused beers (think ESB). We then hopped it with Pacific Northwest classics Centennial and Simcoe for fresh hits of pine sap and lemon rind.

Altogether it’s something very different for us and we’re digging it. It is currently on nitro (one keg left!) and we propose a challenge…

If you can SPLIT THE P™️ you can keep the glass. Order an Old Friends, opt in to the challenge, if your first pull lands gracefully within the middle of the logo on these beautiful new gold foil pub glasses - consider it yours.

If you don’t know what we’re talking about, we got you, scroll over to see the challenge completed with perfection.

We’ve been releasing some of our draft beer out into the wild over the last month or two. A huge thank you to the bars and restaurants we’ve partnered with so far - these budding relationships are so rewarding to a new business like ours (and just as much to established ones too). Also thank you to our industry friends and fam who have been dropping our name when they go out or passing along kind words to others - this goes a long way and we’re very grateful.

Being able to have our beer on draft has been a surreal experience, a massive shout out to our first accounts for taking a chance on the new kids on the brewery block and pouring our wares:

The Upstate Lounge - Hartford
(Upstate Lounge & Cafe)
Spitz - West Hartford
(Spitz West Hartford)
The Beamhouse - Glastonbury
(The Beamhouse)
Rebel Dog - Plainville
(The Tavern at Rebel Dog)

We’ve been adding more kegs to the fleet, which means we can send some more TPB beer out the door. Where do you want to see our beer available? Drop a comment below or tag your favorite bar & restaurant.

We are open today (Thursday) 4-9pm with La Cocina Cubana serving up the best Colombian food. Cans of High Regard & Old Friends still going strong, 6 beers slinging from the taps - Thursday is the new Friday see y’all soon!

CIDER!

We’ve gotten some requests for Cider in the taproom lately and the fine folks just over the river at New Park (New Park Brewing) are supplying the goods.

Their Elmwood Cider is a semi-dry cider that we think is a perfect offering to round out our non-beer options here at TPB.

Along with New Park Cider we have Athletic NA beer, Rebel Dog Cold Brew Coffee, and Fever Tree sparkling lemonades.

We’ll be here slinging beers, pretzels, and house-made sandwiches from 12-9 today - High Regard West Coast IPA and Gartenbier Helles cans available to-go! Let’s rip.

BINGO! RETURNS // HIGH REGARD WC IPA

Botanical BINGO! returns tonight with your host Ashley Rek - come on in and stamp your way to victory in our rendition of the laid back classic. Win some plant prizes, a gift card, certified great times to be had either way.

HIGH REGARD - West Coast IPA, 6.4%

We’re proud to introduce to you our newest exploration into modern West Coast IPA technology.

Built around a truly formidable group of Nelson, Simcoe, a touch of Estate-Grown Centennial from (Crosby Hops) and two forms of Mosaic in both pellet form and Abstrax Quantum Brite (Abstrax Hops). High Regard presents bright and assertive notes of white peach, berry, and resin.

We love West Coast IPA for its clean and true hop expressions, firm bitterness, and dry finish. They simply rip - High Regard is a great example of that. Come and get you some tonight!

Oans, zwoa, drei, g’suffa!

We’re excited to announce that on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th we’ll be celebrating our FIRST ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST. We have some fun things planned for Saturday and some familiar faces returning on Sunday to keep the festive occasion going all weekend long.

Details:
Saturday, September 12th, 12-8PM - A traditional celebration including the release of our Märzen, pretzels galore, and some really delicious eats provided by our new friends over at Jayy’s (jayy’s little red trailer) they really need no introduction!

Sunday, September 13th, 12-6PM - A laid back time with some of our good friends returning to TPB.

We’ll have a DJ set from the Pressing Plant (Pressing Plant) and Sully from The P**i Taco (The P**i Taco) will be serving up the goods. We couldn’t think of a better pair to send off our weekend long celebration.

Can’t wait to see you all dressed in your Oktoberfest best!

CANS!

We’re stocked and ready for your to-go wants and needs this week with both Peripheral Vision and Gartenbier. These two beers have been a welcomed addition to the draft list here at TPB and now you can bring them home with you while supplies last.

Peripheral Vision Pale Ale features Citra and Strata for that classic tropical pop but also some layered dankness and at 5.8% this one has become quite the crusher. Gartenbier is our take on the Munich Biergarten staple, 100% German Pils malt, 100% Hallertau Mittelfruh hops and fermented with the Andechs yeast strain.

$16/4-pack & $15/4-pack respectively.

Alyssa McCabe of Alyssa McCabe did the label artwork and we’re really excited for you all to see the results. Open 4-9 today with La Cocina Cubana slinging some amazing Cuban eats - come down and get some!

SANDWICHES // LIVE MUSIC FRIDAY!

If you’ve stopped into TPB in the last month or so you’ve either heard about sandwiches or tried one for yourself. We’ve been busy tweaking our 2 house sandwiches; the Italian and the Veggie - and we’re ready to tell the (social media) world!

In our opinion, the perfect companion to a beer, perhaps only rivaled by a slice of pizza. Not too much, not too little, just right.

The Italian is a classic combo; meat centric featuring the holy trinity of mortadella, genoa salami, and prosciutto, piled high with some essential veggies and thick cuts of provolone. Topped with a generous splash of our top secret TPB sandwich drizzle.

The Veggie is the epitome of fresh - some guests have referred to it as a “garden sandwich” and we really love that. Hummus spread, cukes, red onion, fire roasted red pepper, a big handful of shredded lettuce and a textural addition of fried shallots.

Sandwiches are made to order, no gluten-free bread option just yet but we’re working on it.

We got Matt Beckius (Matt Beckius) in the taproom tonight from 6-8 jamming out to start your weekend off right. Come through and hang with us! Helles is tasting mighty fine if we do say so ourselves!

LIVE MUSIC TODAY // 2 NEW BEERS

Happy Sunday everyone! We have Ashly LaRosa (figurinemusic) gracing our presence today from 2-4pm playing some acoustic tunes in the tasting room. Swing on by it’s sure to be a chill time so shake off those firework induced cobwebs and hang at TPB.

Also 2 NEW BEERS!

Peripheral Vision - Pale Ale, 5.8% hopped with Citra and Strata. Classic tropical pop layered with some really nice dank notes, even bitterness, lean, mean and ready to rumble.

Gartenbier - Helles, 4.8% our first stab at the Munich-inspired refresher - a super delicate style, the fine line between malt and hop interplay, we’re getting big bread dough whiffs and a nice hop presence from some German-grown Mittlefruh which we sourced from our buds over at The HOPGUILD this one is ready to be crushed.

Also speaking of crushed - we’re out of PILS cans…thank you all! Open 12-6 today. See you soon.

PLOURD PILS CANS

We did it gang - we put some beer into those 16oz vessels you all crave. Of course, the first beer we packaged in cans is none other than our Plourd PILS.

Today, Saturday the 27th we’ll have 4-packs available for take away when we open. We’ll have fresh pretzels from Hartford Baking Co and our house sandwiches on offer, swing on by and pick one up for your hike through the woods, day at the beach, or at home leisure.

Super soft water, German pilsner malt, a touch of flaked corn, handfuls of US-grown Sterling and Adeena hops from our friends over at Crosby Hops // Roy Farms and a tried and true German lager yeast. This is our 2nd iteration of PILS and we hope to continue to tweak and work on this beer in the endless pursuit of excellence.

$15/4-pack • fast times, slow beer
