Progress is being made daily with the taking out of taps and washing tanks and putting everything back into storage until next year. All in all, it takes a few weeks just to do all of this. Then we will move on to our next season which is our fruit and vegetable production. Sugaring time is short lived, only about 6 weeks long, but the prep and take down before and after makes it about a 4 month long occupation for us. After this we will be gearing up for planting, and we're especially looking forward to blueberry season. Our farmstore inside the sugarhouse is open year round for maple product purchases, and you can find our fruit, flowers, herbs, and vegetables starting in July at our roadside stand and at markets we attend. Thank you to all of our supporters and as we always say: "Support local farms today so we exist tomorrow!"

Well, that's a wrap for sugaring season 2026! Overall it was a good one, with our first batch made January 15 during the thaw, and after that more steady runs beginning mid-February, and our last batch made just yesterday March 31st. This would be called a typical season for Connecticut. There have been times in the past where we were able to go into mid-April due to temps staying cold, but this year warmer weather came and sealed up the holes and popped the buds out. We had a total of 24 separate batches made, some made on the same day but with different flavor profiles due to differing collection areas. We have all grades available: Light, Medium, Dark, and even some pretty good Grade B. New grading systems call it Delicate, Amber Rich, Robust, Very Robust. We will be hosting one last Open House on Saturday April 4th from 11-3 if you are looking for something interesting to do. We will be giving free tours and taste samples, and a maple sugar candy making demo. Free admission. Stock up on your Maple Sugar Easter Candy! "Everything's Sweeter at Sweet Wind Farm!"

Today is our LAST boil of the season! We are open for visitors to come on by today to catch the last action of 2026 syrup season till 6 p.m. Fans of dark amber take note! We have all grades of syrup available now: Light (delicate), Medium (amber rich) Dark (robust). After today we are done, and then begins to the long arduous task of pulling all the taps, washing the tanks and returning everything to storage. THANK you so much to all of our supporters! It looks like there will be a couple more freezing nights to make for a sap run on Friday and Saturday night, and after that it looks "iffy", so it seems as though sugaring season is coming to a wind down. We are boiling tomorrow (Thursday) and again Saturday for our Open House Event. You can come watch us boil sap and have a tour. Saturday 11 a.m. till -5 p.m. there will be free coffee and hot cocoa for visitors. Free admission, fun for all ages. Come catch us in action while it lasts!

Mike Luciuk will be playing his acoustic set for us during Day 2 of CT Maple Weekend upstairs in the loft Sunday from 12-4. While listening to some tunes you can hang out in the maple steam while we are cookin up some syrup! Classes offered at 12:30 and 2:30, Tree tapping with Luke at 1 and 2, Maple Popcorn party at 3:30. We will be boiling and making syrup all day. Try some on our pancakes! Arlow just collected a fresh sap load from the Berkshire hills. Free admission.
