Celebrating Harvest Abundance & Community Impact in East Haven! 🌾✨

Despite this season’s extreme weather fluctuations, our fields have flourished!

Thanks to a fruitful harvest, we are honored to continue our core mission—providing Farm 2 Home (F2H) no-cost fresh produce, fruit, medicinal herbs, flowers, and egg donations (rotationally as supplies allow) to homebound individuals, people with disabilities, families facing hardship, and brain injury survivors. 🧺🌿🥚❤️

Because of this wonderful surplus, we launched our brand-new Micro-CSA Pilot Program this week!

We want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to our founding members who came out for their first bi-weekly pickup! Everything went so smoothly, and we are deeply grateful for your willingness to celebrate with us the abundance of harvest that God has provided. Your support directly helps us sustain our farm operations and community outreach following recent funding shifts. 🥬🍅🌸

If you are local to the New Haven area and would like to receive fresh, locally grown goods while supporting a meaningful community mission, we’d love to welcome you! Baskets are available bi-weekly for Monday evening pickups while seasonal supplies last:

• The Farmers Choice Sprouts Basket (5 items): $25 per pickup (veggies, fruit, medicinal herbs, & flowers based on weekly harvest!)

• The Farmers Choice Abundance Basket (10 items): $45 per pickup

Join us at the farm as we kick off our September Pop-Up Series! Come out to connect with nature, gather fresh produce, paint pots, and spend time interacting with our gentle farm animals.

Every dollar raised directly supports our free Green Therapy programs for individuals recovering from trauma and brain injuries, as well as our Farm-to-Home fresh produce deliveries for local families!

Growing happens during every season—whether indoors or outdoors! This September, we are hosting 4 special Pop-Up events (both on-site at our farm headquarters and remote via Google Meet) to connect with the earth, learn practical skills, support mental wellness, and care for our community.

Every single pop-up serves as a fundraiser to directly support our programs—funding free Green Therapy care for individuals recovering from trauma and brain injuries, as well as our Farm-to-Home program delivering fresh produce, herbs, and eggs to local families in need.

In the midst of life happening and through a challenging few weeks, God reminded me that even in the darkest moments, His light always shines through. ✨ I received incredible news, and I am super excited, deeply honored, and immensely grateful to share a major milestone for our community: I have been voted in as a Board Member for the American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA)!

Founded in 1973, AHTA is the premier national organization in the U.S. dedicated to advancing horticulture as a therapeutic practice that supports human health and well-being. Stepping into this new role in this capacity for a 5-year commitment is both a humbling privilege and a powerful validation of the relentless hard work we pour into Healing By Growing™.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the AHTA national leadership for voting me in, trusting in my abilities, and welcoming my contributions. I look forward to drawing upon my over 25 years of experience across healthcare, academia, health and human services, and public service—as well as close to 7 years dedicated to accessible experiential farming and healing—to serve this organization and our movement.

As I join the AHTA Board, my commitment remains focused on:
🌱 Advancing Ethical, Inclusive, and Accessible Practice: Expanding green therapy certifications and equitable nature experiences.

🌱 Elevating Evidence-Based Research: Championing work like our Animals Husbandry Combined Green Therapy Framework and Accessible Healing Gardens.

🌱 Broadening Industry Impact: Integrating green therapy across healthcare, education, agriculture, and private practice.

This appointment also enriches my private consulting and coaching practice—from executive, life, and trauma-informed coaching to consulting on accessible healing garden design and Youth and Beginning Farmer Ag certifications. I remain deeply dedicated to guiding those who need to restore, lead, and heal in the soil.
