We had the good fortune of making a few trips here this past weekend. If you’re ever in the Omena, MI area, it’s worth a stop! The new proprietors are lovely, fun and passionate people, and the shop, the sandwiches and the selection are spot on. Cool shop, cool people, cool for the community. Omena Bay Country Store

We can’t thank you all enough for your input! As of today, our survey is closed. We heard from over 200 people, about 80% of which were year round residents. The top requests? More food options, grab and go sandwiches, snacks, and beer & wine. Boat day food and party packs would be a plus, and local goods are important (which is great - we feel the same.) We’ll be in touch with our summer provision basket winner soon - and we’ll do our best to bring folks along on timing and what’s next. Gert’s Provisions at 109 Main Street is on its way. Can’t wait!

As it stands, lake life and small town friendliness are the two qualities that feel most “East Jordan”. And as far as what people want to see more of - food options, restaurants, beer/wine, something for families are key.
