Christmas has become synonymous with dahlia dividing for me. I put on a favorite Christmas movie and settle in with my snips for a few hours to get them all cut, labeled and snuggled into vermiculite for the winter. My collection has multiplied every year, so this year it was a multi-day activity but still pleasant, and even relaxing.

Unfortunately I lost some varieties this year due to my soil issues, but I’m excited to work with this year to get that resolved! Plus, losing varieties meant I got to spend some time shopping sales this year without feeling guilty😉😂

So much has happened in 2025 and I feel so much pride sitting down to look back at all that we accomplished.

🌱 Joined forces with to open our boutique .laurel.floralct in Danielson, CT
🌱 Flower field 2 set up
🌱 Orchard planted
🌱 Built up apiary again after losing 2 hives during the winter for the first time
🌱 Met and started work to improve our soil

Working on our soil has given us the chance to start over again with our field layouts. I’m grateful for the opportunity as we’ve gotten more familiar with the property over the past season so we can be more strategic about where we plant. Plus, it gives me a chance to pull out my massive grid sheets, enjoy some tea and listen to a good podcast!

We have so many exciting plans in the works for 2026 that I can’t wait to share with you all!

I was so excited to host our second meeting of Flower Farmer Friends of New England. Our group has been steadily growing and while not everyone could make it, we got to meet some new members in person for the first time. We had such great conversation and shared so many helpful tips. We couldn’t believe how quickly time flew by! Can’t wait for the next meeting! 🌸💚

We visited CT Garlic and Harvest Festival in Bethlehem today and picked up loads of goodies! Can’t wait to plant all the different varieties of garlic we picked up. Varieties include:
