Not a bad day! You can tell by the small size that the crookneck season is coming to an end, as are the beans and tomatoes but cucumber, jalapeños, and greens are still going strong and spaghetti and butternut squash, cayennes and beats are about to peak.

These young ladies were outside for the first time today and they loved it! They are all 4 weeks old but check out how much bigger the white ones are. This is the first time we’ve raised meat chickens, I’m interested to see how much bigger they get when they’re full grown! 🐓🐓

The 2 small eggs on the right are large “Cage free” eggs from the grocery store. The other three are from our laying hens! Our eggs make “large” eggs from the grocery store look so mini! And ours last much longer than store bought too. So if you have the option to get fresh eggs vs grocery store eggs, it seems like a no brainer!

Checked a couple projects off the list this weekend. Enclosed the pumpkin and watermelon patch to keep out the rabbits and chickens and installed the gate on the fence for the dogs. All we need now is hardware cloth to fill the gaps and we can move the chickens to this side of the water🤗
