Our own Victoria is apprenticing to be a horse farrier.

🐴 Does removing a horse’s shoes hurt?

Nope! Just like our fingernails, the outer wall of a horse’s hoof is made of keratin and has no nerve endings.

That means properly removing horseshoes, trimming hooves, and driving nails into the correct part of the hoof wall shouldn’t hurt at all!

Of course, horses do have sensitive structures deeper inside their hooves, which is why proper farrier technique is so important.

We’ve been SO busy lately that we haven’t even had a chance to share some of the fantastic pictures we’ve gotten during riding lessons! 🐴❤️

We’re so thankful for this beautiful weather and all the time we’ve been able to spend in the saddle lately. There’s nothing better than good weather, happy horses, and lots of riding! ☀️🐎

We are so proud of Ella Cleary on her win today in her championship division of the Area 1 Schooling Horse Trial Championship! Ella and Rock Hill Farm pony extraordinaire Paisley topped their class of 12 in the Starter division to finish on their dressage score.

We are so happy for Ella at this accomplishment! Congratulations Ella!
