We’re very excited to welcome our new instructor to the team, Madison Poulin! Madison will be specializing in beginner - intermediate riding lessons, summer camp, and trail rides.

A little about Madison in her own words:

Hi, I’m Madison! Born and raised in Essex, Connecticut, where horses have always been a central part of my life. I’m a recent graduate from the Savannah College of Art & Design where i graduated with an Equestrian Studies degree. I was able to expand my knowledge of equine care, training, and riding principles while also serving as a team captain on SCADS Equestrian team.

With years of experience showing my own horse and competing as part of my colleges team, I have been able to develop a strong foundation in horsemanship, equitation, and rider education. When I’m not riding or working, I love to paint in my spare time and even have a small business where I paint and sell breyer model horses.

Rock Hill Farm Summer Camp still has openings for the week of June 22–26!

Campers ages 8–14 enjoy:
🐴 Riding lessons or trail rides
🐴 Hands-on horse and farm activities
🐴 Crafts and games
🐴 Farm chores and animal care
🐴 Outdoor fun with new friends

Half-Day Camp
🕣 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Choose:
✔ Full Week – $400
✔ Individual Days – $85/day

Whether your child is horse-crazy or just loves animals and being outdoors, camp is a great way to kick off summer.

When is the best time for a trail ride? Well, you should go whenever you have the opportunity. It’s one of those things where I don’t think I have ever regretted stopping whatever I was doing and going for a ride instead.

Who is best suited for a trail ride? Well - you should have enough athletic ability and balance to do a squat and stand on one leg. If you have riding experience that helps but you will also be ok if you are good at following directions.

Is riding a horse through the woods like being a passenger in an all terrain vehicle? No! This is a partnership and you are the “driver” of your horse. They need clear guidance and direction.

Are you adventurous and excited to try new things, take a little risk, get a little dirty? Then you’d probably love it. Take a deep breath and ground yourself because your horse knows if you’re worried and it makes them worried too.

Openings on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 5pm. Max 2 in group if both are beginners. Max 3 in group if at least one has some experience. Max weight 185.(we can take one heavier rider up to 225 but only 1 heavier rider per group).

Good news and bad news
The good news is Paisley is doing great. She’s made a full recovery and is right back to her full time job of keeping the rest of the herd in line.
The bad news is I am a procrastinator. I kept putting off setting up the withdrawal from the go fund me donations and I didn’t realize I had a deadline where the donations were all refunded
😩😳☹️😭😬🫪

So…if you are inspired to donate again thank you. I try to keep all the balls in the air but I dropped this one and it rolled into a sewer.

🌟 Rock Hill Farm Scheduling Update 🌟

As many of you know, our own Maddy is getting married on June 14! 💍🐴

With wedding preparations, the wedding itself, and a well-deserved honeymoon, our scheduling availability will be somewhat limited over the next few weeks. Maddy will be away June 14–21.

Victoria and Megan will continue to maintain their regular schedules, and we’re also excited to be training a new staff member during this time. We appreciate your patience as we work through a busy and exciting season for our farm family!

Looking ahead, we have plenty of openings for our first week of Summer Camp beginning June 22. Campers can register for the full week or choose individual days to fit their schedule.

If you’re interested in camp, lessons, trail rides, or pony rides, please reach out early as available appointments may fill quickly.
